      32 teams finished season with 2 losses or less, so adding 1 team per region would include all of these teams.

        No it wouldn’t. Did 8 from each region finish with 2 losses or less, or just 32 overall?

          Only works if you scrap the regions. SR3 would need at least 2 more slots.

            As has been suggested by others take top 32 teams and then make 4 regions of 8 with the flight/travel rules incorporated. That would give each region a greater chance (than even now) to see teams they ordinarily don’t see in the playoffs and would make for a more interesting field and matchups. I would love to see teams from Region 1 or 3 come to the south in early rounds instead of playing conference rivals a second time.

              Why do we need to see teams that don't normally make the playoffs? Should the Lions go to the Super Bowl because we don't usually see that happen?

              Really not understanding how this at all improves the product on the field. Why not 36 teams? Then we see even more that don't usually make it. What about 40?
