  • Lincoln (Oakland) Taking on FCS

Not really sure which division Lincoln (CA) is affiliated with. Last couple seasons they have played a variety of opponents from D3 and NAIA to FCS. This season it appears they are really going for FCS opponents, playing a 12 game schedule vs. 8 FCS foes. And that is after opening the season at NAIA College of Idaho. Interesting.

FCS games mean checks (or bigger checks) so it makes sense that they try to play as many as possible. A few D2 schools may have (or will be) paying them to play but I highly doubt any D3 or NAIA schools would.

I don't think they are affiliated with the ncaa or the naia.

Correct, they have no affiliations whatsoever

Virginia University also does this, they also essentially play exclusively road games.

That’s quite ambitious of them. Hope they can stay healthy.

Absolutely hate that New Haven scheduled them, especially if it’s their only OOC game. Bemidji State had an open date on 10/7, wonder if they ever talked about playing.

Lincoln has a very scrappy approach to scheduling, and I like it. Go Oaklanders!
