  • 2024 Non-Conference Games

I thought that the thread Inkblot made on this last year was very helpful in organizing all the non-conference dates into one thread, so with his blessing I picked it up for this year. Feel free to add on with anything you may know!

Week Zero openings aren't listed, as any openings listed here could theoretically be reworked into a Week Zero game. Also, not all open dates for all the NE-10 teams are known yet-- I'll update as I learn more.

Bloomsburg is apparently travelling to Edinboro in Week 3 for a non-conference game (presumably, this replaces Bloomsburg's open date left by Mercyhurst's departure); the Edinboro-East Stroudsburg game will reportedly be moved to Week 0 (if the PSAC boards are correct).

Realized I could extrapolate out the St. Aug's open dates for CIAA teams that haven't released their schedule by looking at CIAA teams that have released theirs, so those dates have been added. Just waiting on the NE-10 teams now

Strange that FCS Presbyterian is visiting Erskine. I know PC isn't exactly a football powerhouse, but Erskine isn't any better.

Pioneer League FCS schools aren't really FCS schools. They're D3 programs on steroids.

Quincy released their schedule yesterday. The Hawks are rounding out their non-conference slate with a Week 8 home game against Westgate Christian University, a team I had never heard of until a few minutes ago

Remember those "College of Faith" schools who infested the entire college football landscape about 10+ years ago? "Westgate Christian University" strikes me as no more of a university than Bishop Sycamore was a high school football juggernaut. Westgate Christian would make College of Faith look like Alabama, based on what little research I was able to muster.

Westgate Christian is apparently one of over 100+ "partner schools" affiliated with the Georgia-based "Christian Life School of Theology Global" - and, conveniently enough, I can't seem to find a list of said "partner schools".

This, apparently, is their "class schedule" according to their website:

                      https://www.christianlifeschoolofthe....org/about-us/

Of course, this is a "legitimate" college... I mean, why wouldn't it be?

Thanks for the info. I did a little preliminary research when I saw the release, because I'd never heard of them and was curious, and I drew similar conclusions; they seemed pretty sketchy based off their website home page, and the info you dug up only reinforces that for me. Quincy had some real cream puffs on their non-conference slate last season too, so maybe they just like scheduling easy wins.

In the past couple of years, we saw North American University from down near Houston pop up on some D2 schedules, but now they're a bonafide NAIA school (which is an upgrade from their first couple of years). Then there's Fort Lauderdale, whose football program appears to have disappeared stopped playing D2 schools after they also popped up on a schedule or two a couple of years ago. And, of course, there's Lincoln-California (aka the "Oaklanders").

But, Westgate Christian takes the cake.

Then there's Fort Lauderdale, whose football program appears to have disappeared stopped playing D2 schools after they also popped up on a schedule or two a couple of years ago. And, of course, there's Lincoln-California (aka the "Oaklanders").

But, Westgate Christian takes the cake.
Here’s an article about how the Lincoln program is doing (long story short-it’s really bad)…if Westgate is worse, then those players need to get out, get a lawyer, or both:

Is there anybody outside of Oakland who didn't see this coming? College of Faith seemed to have more cred than Lincoln-California.
