There's only one GLIAC team in the regional rankings - Ferris State. That's also pretty jarring when you think about where that league was 10-15 years ago before the Ohio schools split off to become part of the GMAC. Upper Iowa, meanwhile, is actually ranked seventh in SR3, so they're in good shape despite facing UIndy this weekend in Indianapolis (UIndy, in turn, lost to #2 Findlay but beat #4 Ashland, who in turn beat the #4 team in SR1 in Indiana (Pa.)).Originally posted by boyblue View Post
I appreciate your effort. Isn't it crazy? In some regions a single loss used to mean no PO, I notice that Upper Iowa is the only one loss team in the rankings sitting outside the top eight in their region. I guess parity is the order of the day.Cal U (Pa.) Class of 2014

And, for those not following in the GSC forum, there are going to be some very unhappy campers in Frankfort and Cleveland tonight, because not only did Valdosta win the GSC and steal an AQ bid from either Kentucky State or Delta State, but North Greenville, who wasn't in the regional rankings either, also won their conference, beating Pembroke 34-20 for the inaugural Conference Carolinas title. North Greenville went undefeated in Conference Carolinas play (6-0) and lost to all four GSC teams en route to the conference title.Cal U (Pa.) Class of 2014

That win over Valdosta could end up keeping Pembroke in the playoff bracket. It probably won't matter where they're seeded since they're not going to be in the top four, but we'll see how it plays out tomorrow night.Originally posted by Eagle74 View Post

Truly believe the Bisons would have won it that year if their QB didn’t mysteriously go missing before the Semifinal.Originally posted by OldBison View Post
Harding Bisons made the POs in 2017 with 3 D2 losses. Then went on to beat Ferris State in the Region 3 championship. They lost to Texas AM - Commerce in the semi-finals, who later won the natty.

VSU has been sanctioned for an ineligible player (unknown to us at the time and reported as soon as we found out) with one of their conference wins (UWA) being changed to a loss (effective only in conference). So we didn't get in as conference champs but as co-champs having the tie breaker over the other co-champ, UWF

Oof. The timing couldn't have been any worse. It doesn't sound like it will affect Valdosta's status as the GSC's automatic qualifier unless the NCAA has something to say about this.Originally posted by boyblue View PostVSU has been sanctioned for an ineligible player (unknown to us at the time and reported as soon as we found out) with one of their conference wins (UWA) being changed to a loss (effective only in conference).
