CAA is way better than that pathetic NEC anyday. Don't even know why NEC even exist in the first place.

Any chance New Haven has of getting into the CAA for football probably involves placing other sports in the America East. The AEC currently only has one private school, but that's Hartford, which seems to have a very similar profile to UNH. Hartford doesn't have football, but all four AEC schools that do (Albany, Stony Brook, New Hampshire, Maine) compete in the CAA.

Anything is possible, but I am totally against going to the NEC. I would rather see New Haven staying in D2 instead of going to the NEC.
