Obviously, I am not a UNH fan. At all. Not in the least. Go Owls! However, it brings me no joy to read about what is happening at UNH. This should not be the script for such a "tradition rich" program. I hope it all works out for the team and alumni....

Scowl, trust me, as an alum from this university and as a football fan, I am not really happy with this transition. I do feel for the coaches and the players. Just imagine going into a football season, specially for those that this is the last year of playing, and not knowing who you are going to play and how many games are on the schedule. So many players are transferring out and it is sad to see all this happening, specially when New Haven was ,at one point, a transfers university where so many players were coming to UNH from other places. I hope SC get Pincince so he could get many great current players to play for the Olws.

Well, more and more New Haven football players are in the portal within the last couple of days and many were starters. I believe the entire offensive line entered the portal. Not good if you're a Chargers fan.

Now I didn't expect them to be all that competitive in their first year as a "D1" school, but I'm legitimately worried they might not have enough players at some positions to field a viable team. It has to close to all second- and third-stringers left, I'm thinking. This could possibly become a safety issue if too many hit the portal.

According to the interim head coach Powell, there are some players coming in also, but no information who these players are currently, at least for us fans. I do feel bad for these players that they are not going for any kind of championship for awhile and on top of all that, they are not even in the NEC yet or any conference right now.

This transfer portal from New Haven is such a mess right now. Many committed before D1 transition are now with other teams, but have been getting many players recently to coming. It looks like we lost everyone on the Oline except one, but there are a couple linemen who are transferring in, so that should help.

I'm sure I'll offend some guys - but last I looked it was a NE-10 Group.
I don't give a crap about the New Haven OC or transfers. Maybe a little more attention to the teams still in the league?

As far as I know, there's none at this moment. It's not gonna be easy to replace a headcoach/offensive coordinator in 2 months, which Pincince was both. I don't even know that they are currently looking for one because everywhere I looked, they are actively looking for only 2 graduate assistants.

New Haven Alum, can you tell us where the Oline transferred to? I know player was picked up by Rutgers.

Also, who are the new linemen that are transferring in? Who are some of our new players?

Finally, any possibility that Coach Pincince will be coaching somewhere this Fall?

Thank you in advance for any information!

Well, one you already knew was picked up by Rutgers. Our starting center is now with Slippery Rock and one is now on Albany roster. Our long snapper is now with the other UNH, New Hampshire. Our best kick returner is now with Virginia Union. There's no word on coach Pincince as of now, but I am pretty sure someone will pick him up. I am pretty it's gonna be a big time for coach Pincince. As far as transferring into New Haven, there are many, but I'll put some on here. New Haven is getting a few Oline from Lincoln University, CIAA and also from West Liberty University, MAC. New Haven also getting players from Virginia Union, Stetson, Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, North Texas, Rice, Buffalo and a few others. There are a bunch of first years players are coming in also. Hope this helps.

                          New Haven Alum,

I really appreciate all this info! I am excited to see the new roster. Any chance you could elaborate on some of the transfers, I.E. Height, weight, etc.? Any of the High School kids spark your interest? Did we lose the OB transfer from San Diego State? as always, thanks for all you share! All the best!!

Off topic, but it seems New Haven got a partner for their first home game as a D1 men’s basketball program…and it’s my other school?

It also looks like they will participate in a multi-team tournament including a game on Nov. 3 against UConn.

(Anyway, I sure hope it’s a long while before they play UConn in football…it’s really cool to be able to tell someone that my school is 1-0 against UConn!)

I remember this game at UConn. I believe the theme of the game was "Only when pigs fly". The week before the game, many players from UConn predicted that the only time when New Haven could win this game is when pigs fly. When the game ended, the entire New Haven football team pointed to the sky and shouted pigs do fly LOL. Well I, along with many other fans ran onto the field and did the same thing.

Well, it looks like the football team is playing @ South Dakota State University next year plus a full NEC Schedule.
