Re: PSAC in the CFL
Occasionally players can use the CFL as a stepping stone to the NFL. ERIK HARRIS CALU '11 SS was with the TIGER CATS from 13-15, the SAINTS 16 and currently on the RAIDERS roster.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post

Re: PSAC in the CFL
Even if they do not eventually make it to the NFL, it is still not a bad gig just as long as they know they would need to find work after football. The average salary is $80,000 a year to play a game, plus it gives a little more cred to their resume if they decide to go the coaching/exceutive route. If they don't go that route I hope they prepared by continuing education or even having another job while being in the CFL.Originally posted by CALUPA69 View PostOccasionally players can use the CFL as a stepping stone to the NFL. Re: PSAC in the CFL
Former Edinboro QB Trevor Harris, the starter for Ottawa, signed a two-year $600,000 contract when he left Toronto. He followed it up with a one-year contract for $450,000. As of today that's a little over $340k USD. Not bad. When he hangs it up he'll be in his upper 30s and made a decent living so far before he transitions to being a coach or teacher or both.Originally posted by Mikefln View PostEven if they do not eventually make it to the NFL, it is still not a bad gig just as long as they know they would need to find work after football. Re: PSAC in the CFL
Yes that is a great living for sure, but that is the exception and not the rule in the CFL. The 2017 salary cap was $5.15 million a minimum salary of $50,000. They generally pay like 4 or 5 players a nice chunk then the rest average to around $80,000.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostFormer Edinboro QB Trevor Harris, the starter for Ottawa, signed a two-year $600,000 contract when he left Toronto. Re: PSAC in the CFL
What is Cody Harris up to these days? Maybe Trevor and Cody can get something started together after Trevor hangs things up.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostFormer Edinboro QB Trevor Harris, the starter for Ottawa, signed a two-year $600,000 contract when he left Toronto.
