Gannon's OL got blown up by IUP much of the day which helped get an initial hit on him, stunt him and wait for the cavalry.

I mentioned yesterday in the game thread ... the key to Gannon is to keep them on long drives. IUP had a horrendous day on kick coverage. All five GU TDs came after short fields. Pin GU deep and they have a completely different (much worse) offense. In a short-field situation, Jones is a monster. They don't really have any threat of going deep but run the dink/dunk stuff fairly well at times.

Mercyhurst will be very patient and conservative. Punch back and GU gets frustrated .. and then self-implodes with stupid penalties.
Mercyhurst just needs to score and keep scoring. The defense will do their part. Offense needs to turn from page 1 of the playbook, week 8 you should at the least look at page 2. If not, it will be a long day and Jones may get his yardage in the 4th after the defense has warn down from all the three and outs.

All these points were not on defense.

Doesn't matter, a defense that is "doing their part" picks up the offense or special teams. It's easy to play defense when the opposing offense has to go 80 yards every drive, the good defenses make stops on short fields that they were handed by turnovers or bad special teams play. Hurst is a below average defense nothing more. jus sayin

According to Tony, their starters would start for any team in D2.

                      PSAC Coaches wouldn't say that.
