Oh, geez. A West Chester offensive lineman just had his leg essentially turned 180 degrees. I do not think he will play football again ...

EDIT: The stretcher has been out there for 15 minutes.

Ugly day for football. Weather could be affecting turnovers and injuries. It will get worse as the day goes on.

The West Chester kid's injury reminded me of Joe Theismann -- except it appeared to be more of his full leg, like up to the hip. Stomach-turning.

The young man was offensive tackle Ethan Vargas.

Kutztown actually puts together a drive for another FG. 6-0 Kutztown before the half. Shepherd has 4 turnovers.

Interesting calls in this Boro game. A fumbled deep reception recovered by Cal called off for holding by the same player.

Then Boro drives and catches a ball on the 1. First play the whistle blows during the scrum but then they call a fumble and Cal recovery in the end zone for a touch back.

              Halftime

              Cal 7
              Boro 3

Horrible injury. The team was completely rattled walking off the field, and they should be. Never want to see that happen ever.

I am not a prayerful person, but I am saying a few now for this young man,

I swear. Shepherd never plays well in bad weather. The offense is just not built for it. It's no excuse, but they struggle more than many in bad weather.

Likewise. That was the most gruesome football injury I've seen in quite some time. More than half of the WCU offense walked off the field holding their heads with both hands, in shock.

I'm a grown man, and I've got a few tears in my eye for this young man right now.

Agreed. I watched Cal’s broadcast of last week’s game and was quite pleased. They did a pretty solid job covering the game objectively and not coming across as obnoxious “homers” as some local broadcast crews might tend to be.

I just hope there wasn't some permanent circulatory damage.

Shepherd’s defense has played lights out to keep the Rams in this game. Both INTs by Morgan were horrible decisions—one off his back foot with a defender in his face, on the other the WR was perfectly covered. I expected a fumble or two, but the INT’s were unnecessary. The drop at midfield and the bad pass on Shepherd’s final series was the final dagger in an awful first half offensively.

If Shepherd can’t keep its defense off the field, the D will tire as Kutztown’s offense slowly gains more confidence and rhythm.

I know Hurst is less competitive than IUP has seen the last few weeks but so far in the 1st quarter it looks like Karst Hunter improving game-by-game. Beginning of 2nd quarter IUP leads 9-0.

IUP up 9-0 start of the 2nd quarter. One field goal, one TD, one missed extra point. Odd camera placement is forcing the poor camera person to do alot of zooming in and out and shifting to avoid I'm guessing an over hang that is blocking the view.
