Presumably BigIndians went on Twitter/X and searched for phrases like “transfer portal”, “the portal”, or “entering the portal.” I just did this out of curiosity and one of the first four posts that came up was a Clarion player named Ray Jackson (WR). I also see Jordan Barnett, RB from Shepherd, with just a little bit of scrolling.

I’m pretty sure that 1/4 of the Concord roster and 1/2 of the roster at Kentucky Wesleyan (GMAC) are in the portal at this point. The HC for KWC basically put out an ad on Twitter for guys in the portal or JUCO to DM him.

Keep in mind not all those showing up in the Twitter portal are leaving on their own accord.

Some are knuckleheads or 'misses' the staff wants to move on from. House cleaning.

Scholarships are good for (1) season. That's it.

Several of these guys will end up at higher profile D2 programs.

Some will move up. Some will retire.

Shepherd RB Jordan Barnett enters the portal. Another one bites the dust for the cheaters from West Virginia, or so it seems. Ernie McCook is running that program straight into the ground.

So far I’ve seen:
4 players from Ship - OL Moon, OL Graeper, OL Diaz, and DL Smith
2 players from Bloom - QB Wray and RB Megginson
1 player from Clarion - WR Jackson
1 player from Shepherd - RB Barnett
1 player from Rock - DB Thompson

Barnett might be the best individual performer of the early announcers but Ship being at risk of losing four starters or rotational guys along the lines might hurt more. Maybe the new coach, whoever that is, can convince some of them to stay though. For the Huskies Wray has not seen the field at all and Megginson couldn’t break through to get consistent playing time this year even with last year’s top two backs out with injury. I wish them both well wherever they end up if they leave, unless they’re playing against BU.

I believe Wray was injured before the season started. Megginson had more carries last year. Hate to lose anyone, but if kids think they won't get playing time, it's worth a try.
