    Here is a good article outlining how many of the smaller UNC Systems athletic programs will benefit from legalized sports betting in NC. During WSSU's townhall Zoom call on Monday, our AD, Etienne Thomas detailed how the school received one million dollars for our athletic department...

    WOW, what an unexpected, ongoing, annual $$$$$ winfall. Congratulations!! D2 Schools affected are Fayetteville State, UNC-Pembroke, Elizabeth City State University, and Winston Salem State University.

        I'm pretty sure that private schools such as USC, Notre Dame, The Miami Hurricanes, Baylor, Stanford etc feel as though they're able to compete on a level field on a pretty consistent basis.

        Also on the D2 level, I believe both Harding University and Lenoir Rhyne proved this past season that they can complete just fine against those big ole state supported schools.

          From an athletics perspective, most of those private schools are on better footing, especially the PWIs.

            Very clear that it mostly depends on how much a school's Alumni are willing to step up and help support a school, and how well an institution is managed (top to bottom).
