I do not see the sense in scheduling these low-level FCS games. Is this some sort of classic I don't know about? I know scheduling is extremely difficult but at least play a game that counts.Originally posted by LegalRam View Post

4) From Hampton's perspective, being in the CAA, they only play one conference opponent HBCU a year. They typically schedule Howard and Norfolk State, but depending how schedules fall that could be only 1 or 2 guaranteed home games a year against HBCU competition. Scheduling close by D2 schools (e.g. VUU and ECSU) gets them another HBCU game with teams they have history against. ECSU last played Hampton in 2019 and had a crowd of over 8k. That's amazing numbers for a Hampton program that usually doesn't do the best in the attendance department.Comment

Throw in the recruiting angle too. The tidewater area is where ECSU does some of their recruiting, so a good showing could bolster their efforts.Comment

WSSU is going to play Tuskegee in the "Red Tail Classic" in Alabama, (neutral site other than the fact it is in Alabama... Lol) Checked Tuskegee's website and the game is scheduled for August 31st.Last edited by WSSU1996; 02-07-2025, 06:35 PM.Comment

Blue State opens at home vs. Tusculum this year. Both the Big Blue and the Pioneers finished 1-9 last season under their respective first-year head coaches, so hopefully it should be a pretty even matchup.Comment
