Virginia State folks would probably lose their minds if they got bypassed by a team with 2 more losses than them. Makes you question the earned access rule maybe? No disrespect to my friends at Albany, two of the coaches are very good friends of ours.Originally posted by Rational Observer View PostImagine if you would that this was the final regional rankings. We would finally have an HBCU conference get two straight-up legit playoff teams and then one of them gets bumped via earned access.
I'm too lazy to look, but how did Virginia State do when they played Bowie State? Yes I know they lost, but what was the score?

I've long questioned the rule. I'd be fine with automatic berths for conference champs with the remaining spots determined by the rankings along with the seedings, but the current EA rule is a farce.

It wouldn't be the first time. In 2014, when the CIAA was still in SR1, WSSU was the six seed but got bounced out by LIU/CW Post due to the EA rule. VA State made it in as a #3 seed that year. We were 9-2 with our only losses being by 5 points to Valdosta and 4 points to VA State.Originally posted by Rational Observer View PostImagine if you would that this was the final regional rankings. And I would love to see Lenoir Rhyne match up against West Florida. That could be a great game.

This is the first stat I've seen that helps the earned access argument, from what I see here Albany deserves a shot.Originally posted by Uwfalum98 View PostSR2 Strength of Schedule 11/11National Toughness of Schedule Ranking (stats.ncaa.org)SUPER REGION TWO Owp 1 Valdosta St. 9-0 .573 2 Lenoir-Rhyne 10-0 .528 3 Bowie St. 9-0 .420 4 Wingate 9-1 .517 5 Carson-Newman 7-2 .525 6 West Florida 6-2 .552 7 Virginia St. 8-1 .433 8 Delta St. 6-2 .577 9 Albany St. (GA) 7-3 .494 10 Fayetteville St. 8-2 .371

5-7 seeds can be moved. 1-4 stay in region. Also possible they rearrange it so that CN plays Bowie and Wingate gets WF despite seeding. Both those would be great games. LR likely gets the SIAC winner, unless Miles somehow doesn't get in the top 9 with a win, but I doubt that. That is assuming no one loses to someone they aren't supposed to.Originally posted by baldereagle View Post
Are they moving teams outside their regions now?Last edited by BearsLRU; 11-13-2019, 12:59 AM.
