      You were! But COVID and injury got him that 6th year. DSU should be loaded on offense and special teams. If the D is improved and the O line holds up could be a big year. Key returners: Shegog QB, Makik Jones DB, Kelvin Smith RB, Adam Duncan TE, Parker Burleson KO/P, Nick Herber K, Demetrius Swilley DL, Robbie Evenas WR/WR, and Keshawn Jennings OL.

      Should be 7- 0 going into WF. but its a long season and a difficult schedule.

        I think this will be the least talented team for West Florida since 2016. I think the 2018 team was far superior in talent over this year's team, that team just played the second half of that season with a 4th or 5th string QB so that team ran out of gas and just completely fell apart.

        I think West Florida will return in the near future to being the king of GSC, but this season is a rebuild in every sense of the word.
        * 2022 BACK 2 BACK GSC CHAMPIONS and D2 FINAL 4
        * 2021 GSC CHAMPIONS
        * 2019 D2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
        * 2017 D2 NATIONAL RUNNER-UP

          Chowan Looks to “Fly Around” in Debut Season

          Welcome to the show, Chowan. In preparation for the Conference Carolinas sponsoring football in 2025, the Hawks — who had previously played football in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association — will be an affiliate member of the GSC for two seasons and will be joined by Erskine for 2024 only before the affiliation expires ahead of the 2025 season.

          The Hawks went 7-4 in 2022 while losing the CIAA Championship game to Fayetteville State, but a lot of turnover on the roster and in the coaching ranks means that there are likely to be a lot of new looks for the team in 2023. Chowan’s run in the GSC will be a short one (and the North Carolina school has a tough road ahead of it as it was picked last in the GSC’s preseason poll), but first-year head coach Paul Johnson, hired after a stint as the offensive coordinator at Bloomsburg, says his team isn’t going to be playing with any fear of the storied, talented programs that the conference has ready to take the Hawks on.

          “We’re going to be explosive, we’re going to be fast, we’re going to play with tempo,’ Johnson said. “We play a new brain of football on every play. It can be a throw or a run, and on defense, we’re going to be aggressive and fly around and play a 4-2-5. We’re going to be super aggressive.”

            Wait a minute! On any given play, it could be a throw OR a run?!
            Who would have thought?

            I'm just messing around, I think I get what he's saying.

                      Wait, what? Quite a few upper division transfers? If you don't mind, can you point out the new upper division transfers that you're seeing on the roster?

                      Here's DSU's 2023 signing class:

                      There are only two "upper division" signees. One from Austin Peay and the other from Mississippi Valley State...Not exactly power houses.
