Just a reminder to those who have forgotten or don’t like historical reality, the Argos are 9-1 on the road in the playoffs and 4-1 at Cleveland, MS. Their only loss at Cleveland was in year one (2016) and the only playoff loss was to the national champion last year. Break out the Stormtroopers, it’s playoff time!!! Gooo Arrgggooosss!!!

If you look at the season stats for the Statesmen and the Argos you would naturally and rationally, as I did, favor the Okra at home for the regular season game this year and expect a high scoring shootout like last year's regular season thriller. Both teams dominate the top three in this year's GSC stats for nearly all of the categories. Delta has the better balanced offense, better kick returns, turnover margin and fewer penalties. The Argos are only a step behind on offense, but have a better run stopping defense, more sacks and control the clock more, which played a big part in their surprising ball control win a few weeks ago.
In that game both defenses throttled the offenses to more than a hundred yards less that their usual averages and there was only one turnover when the Argos muffed a punt in the first quarter at the 5 that the Okra quickly converted to a TD that led to their 21-10 halftime lead. The second half was all ball control Argos who ran the ball twice as much as they passed (53 to 21) with the QB carrying the ball the most and Pee Wee's dad yelling from the stands to "run it again" every time Pee Wee carried the ball. The Argos ended up with 60 more yards of offense in the game, but that was due to their hogging the ball for 40 minutes of the game and keeping the Delta offense standing on the sidelines for most of the second half.
I believe both defenses are better than last year's version and we will see a game more similar to this year's regular season game than last year's shootout. Shegog was just missing his passes in the game this year and that may be due to the leg injury he appeared to be trying to shake off in the game. Both QB connected on just 13 passes in the earlier game a few weeks ago and I expect that number will probably go up this week. I expect Delta will blitz a lot again because that causes Pee Wee to run, get sacked or throw the ball away and I expect the Argos will have something to address that blitzing as well. Both teams will probably reuse what worked and have something new to try to see if it works.
We all know that it's hard to beat a conference rival twice in the same season and that rule was followed last year, but the Argos are 4-1 at Cleveland and always seem to find a way to win. I doubted the Argos a few weeks ago, but have to go with them to find a way to win in a coin flip of a game-Argos by 1.

The strormtropper all-white uniforms only have their magic unlocked if the UWF logo is on the helmets. If "Acgos" in an unreadable ugly script is on the helmets it actually reverses the magic and means West Florida is doomed. We will see which one they pick.* 2022 BACK 2 BACK GSC CHAMPIONS and D2 FINAL 4
* 2021 GSC CHAMPIONS
* 2019 D2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
