Love seeing all those "not in portal'. For those who are chasing a school or conference record, it makes sense to stay. I know for us, you need those records to be considered for our Athletic Hall of Fame later on.
Also, if your team has a reasonable chance in the playoffs, it would be worth it to stay. Unfortunately most players do not think that far ahead

I like to think that team success, culture etc can help keep the teams better players around.
It has been good to see some of the top players in the GSC staying somewhat loyal.(guys like Sammy Edwards)

but surprisingly there have been guys who were not as celebrated in our conference pick up big time offers.
such as the center from Valdosta going to ucf,
the shorter OT having offers from every power 5 school. The shorter TE 2 years ago going to FSU, UWG QB to texas tech for examples.

West Georgia, shorter, West Alabama and chowan have been decimated by players in the portal.

haven’t seen much from Mississippi college.

Some key pieces for Valdosta leaving, but more so tons of other less known guys I’ve seen getting in the portal.

delta and uwf have lost a few back ups but the core has stayed strong from what I’ve seen on social media.

On the subject of Transfers, my ole UNCP Braves Bud sent this to me. He's very hyped about it, with good reason.

            https://www.robesonian.com/sports/29...-signing-class

Looks like their 2nd year Head Coach Mark Hall is quickly stacking his Braves team. Pretty impressive especially with how they finished their last 4 games.

according to AthLinked Twitter- Valdosta State has the number 2 ranked transfer class in D2 while Delta State comes in at number 8.

looks like the co - champs reloaded with some big transfers this offseason!

With all that has been going on a DSU, it is a testament to the coaching staff that more players aren’t in the portal. It also speaks to the sense of family those men have. It is not easy to recruit to the delta, and then convince people to stay when the college gets turned upside down.

Not really sure why Lenoir Rhyne is on the list. They've had so many players transfer out this year it's shocking. I haven't seen where they picked up enough talent to come close to offsetting their losses.

UWG decimated? I think not. D2 players departed, D1 players arrived. Roster turnover is normal D2, more so moving up.

UWG’s best players leaving and getting offers to go to established division 1 programs, is not what I would consider D2 players leaving.. I'm not saying UWG hasn’t brought in talented players, but when you have every all conference player you have leave and get D1 attention, that doesn’t sound like players that are leaving because there all of a sudden not good enough to play for a team in the midst of transitioning up to FCS for the first season…

GSC Freshman of the Year:QB Cameran Brown, leaves to go to Texas Tech.

Xavier Robinson LB- headed to FBS program Georgia State…

RB Rajaez Mosley, not sure where he ended up but had a lot of offers posted on Twitter a few months back.

Marvin James OL- FBS offers from schools such as central Michigan and UMASS

Keondre Williams DE- multiple D1 offers, just took an official visit to FBS Ball State…

im sure you have more on info on who they are bringing in but hopefully it is some proven that have shown to perform at the last school they were at. Because if you don’t think loosing all of those star players is being decimated by the transfer portal, then we can agree to disagree

there is obviously multiple other guys leaving of less notoriety but this mentioned above are key players…

You have to look at both sides of the ledger.

Rajaez had a great Spring game and is staying.

Brown left, but two D1 QBs came in.

Robinson left with one year of eligibility left, but two D1 LBs came in.

James left with one year of eligibility left, but we have 19 OL on the roster and anticipate D1 adds.

Williams left with one year of eligibility left, but we added four D1 DLs.

Plus we added a 4 star WR from Michigan this werk.

Brown really didn't live up to the hype. He was good on paper, but didn't fit the scheme. Personally, his loss isn't that big in my uneducated opinion.
