This is BS! This is 100% not the norm. I hate that fro the players and coaching staff.
When we won the GSC in 2007, we did not have to buy our own rings.
I still have mine to this day. It's not valuable in a monetary sense, but the sentimental value is more important than any monetary value.
Maybe the players could start a GoFundMe account, and Blazer nation could help them with the cost.

Tremaine doesn’t have enough history playing for championships to speak on the issue.
The goal of the Blazers every year is to win a national championship. Our national championship winning teams get rings. The team ( and many others) don’t pay for them. The teams are also well celebrated and inducted into the VSU HOF as a team.
Can’t help but wonder, had Tremaine not spent the time leading up to the championship game distracted as he worked out his new gig, if they would have been better prepared and not gutted so badly by a championship caliber coach in Tony Annese and the Ferris State team.
I’m very excited to have Graham Craig as our new head coach.
It's long been the policy that the athletic department doesn't pay for conference championship rings. This has been the case for at least 25 years. It is the program's (the coach's) responsibility to raise the money for conference championship rings. It sounds like the coach was too busy finding his next gig instead of taking care of the young men who got him that gig.
