  • Maybe we aren't back *sad face*

We are going toe to toe into the 4th quarter with D2 juggernaut Kentucky Wesleyan College.

Was it just that Lenoir-Rhyne is really bad?!?

18 penalties for 200 yards is probably the reason for that.

3 INTs, Corey Scott did nothing all day. Like the KWC commentator said on the telecast, if West Florida has any hopes of competing at the top levels of D2 football they will have to be a lot better than this.

This team needs to come out vs Shorter and put up a 62-0 kind of game. The 2 games after that are less cupcake like. I'm tired of so many penalties last few years. Please fix it!

WF is going to be fine. 3 turnovers and 200 yards in penalties and still won 28-7 and put up 400 yards of offense.

This is a nothing burger. This is early season headache stuff that'll work itself out.

I think it depends on your goals. Is it to beat KWC by 21 because you scored a late touchdown with a minute left so that it wasn't only 14 points or is it to compete for a National Championship? The bar was set high around here quickly and with the location, facilities and quality of school the expectations should stay high. This isn't a small D2 in the middle of nowhere. This is a D1 campus in a larger city in SEC country next to Pensacola Beach. The standard should be to be the elite of the elite at the D2 level. I've been to many D1 campuses and locations that offer a lot less.

You are not lying. I imagine it’s much easier to get someone to commit to Pensacola than Cleveland. It’s like our staff has to work double time on recruiting due to size and location.

Pueblo lost to Ft. Lewis the year they won the NC, bad games happen during a season, especially when the people playing said games are kids. The dramatic overreactions by fans to a good game or a bad gameare always hilarious to read.

If we are talking Real Estate, LOCATION, LOCATION. LOCATION is the key.

I can't name ONE COACH. ONE PLAYER, nor can I describe any facility connected to UWF. With everything in the world(from your description) needed to be top of the world in D2 now and being a SEC quality city already in place which should impact the UWF program for greatness now, maybe the problem is NOT geographical.

Maybe, just maybe the wrong people are in place. No idea who they are, or what they are in charge of, but the "BAR" was set in part by someone who LEFT. Were those shoes properly filled?

Do you get on the message board surprised when you read fans thoughts on games? What are you thinking you will get on here and read? We lost to Carson-Newman the year we won the National Championship. So what? I don't understand the point. I didn't say it couldn't happen. I said the game wasn't to the West Florida standard. If you dont want thoughts on football games from fans and alumni of that team you are probably on the wrong website.

I like that we got someone that knew the culture of the program. I think in a lot of ways he's done a good job. The teams seem to constantly get so many penalties and that drives me nuts. I can't tell you how much I HATE the wording/logo on the side of the helmet he uses. I'd like him more if he went back to the UWF they use to use or if they did an actual school logo. They aren't the Shinnick teams but they haven't been bad teams. I think Pete Shinnick though is an outstanding FCS level coach so maybe its unfair to compare. I thought after 2019 we were about ready to be the single dominate team in D2 football and that hasn't happened. Everything is in place that you could dream of to be that at that school.

I say this with respect to a lot of other D2 schools. I don't know from a recruiting standpoint how they could possibly compete with UWF and yet in many cases they often do. I agree with you, those coaches have to work double and triple time over UWF coaches to get kids. I'm biased naturally, yes. If I take that hat off, it should be unfair when these other schools have to recruit against West Florida. Completely unfair.

Good luck putting up those turnover and penalty numbers against a credible opponent.

L-R can't be "that bad' if they were able to beat Tusculum 28-7 (and I don't recall Tusculum being a juggernaut in the SAC).
