UVA Wise at Emory & Henry - Redwine didn’t start vs LR last week. Think that the Cavs struggle without their gunslinger. E&H are surging and win this rivalry (we got a name for it?) handily. Wasps by 17 (35-18)
Limestone at Lenoir-Rhyne - Limestone are the surprise team in the SAC this year. LR are playing well (albeit vs some of the league bottom feeders) and heading into a key 4 game stretch. Bears tough this one out by 10 (23-13).
Carson-Newman at Tusculum - I like tusculum, but I don’t trust them. CN edges pioneers by 2 in the Ivan Corbin revenge game part 2 (24-22)
Mars Hill at Erskine - Lions roar back from defeat last week. MH by 27 (37-10).
Barton at Newberry - Barton aren’t a sinking ship by any means, but they have been a slight disappointment in my books. Winning against a wounded Newberry will be a tough ask. Any word on Dre Harris? I’ll predict a 14 point Newberry win (28-14) but it’s an entirely different game if he’s not playing.
Catawba at Wingate - poor Catawba. Wingate roll by 27 (30-3).

I agree. Although it will probably be like last year when the bears went into the playoffs on a winning streak with a lot of confidence, only to get dominated (outcoached and outplayed) in the 1st round.

Unless the bears get lucky, whoever they play in the 1st round will be the second best team they play all year, behind Ferris state.

There were some serious extenuating circumstances surrounding that game and I sure as heck wouldn’t have wanted to be in anyone’s shoes participating in that game.

I certainly am not saying that the outcome would have been any different, but those young men get a pass from me until the end of time. They played hard in the face of tragedy that none of us would want to face.
