From what I understand, the last team from this area to win the NCAA Division 2 Basketball Championship was Barton, but that's been a while.

UNG and Aiken are both really really good. Lander is a bad matchup for LMU. The PBC was good this year. Unfortunately they try to avoid the top tier programs in the SAC. Only 2 of their top 6 played a team in the top 4 of the SAC if my math is correct. Probably will help that the SAC is going to a double round Robin conference schedule next year (24 league games). Will only have to find 4 NC.

I think this year the men's bracket may only have 1 SAC team make the 2nd round. I think the women's will have at least 3. Maybe 4. SAC women's league was as deep as I've remembered. 5 of top 6 teams in region were in the league.

If I had to pick em.....that's probably what I go with. Metrics like UNG to win the region but it's March. Friend of mine who coaches at a NAIA but used to coach in the league says if LMU gets past Lander they are a tough out. He was also really impressed with CatU defense in the SAC Final.

I had a a chance to see the Daniel twins from Central Cabarrus High School play this week a couple of times in the regional and state championship games, both have signed with Catawba. Really good guards that will be great additions for that team, wish they were coming to LR!

CN ladies dominate Anderson to reach regional final. Georgia SW currently cooking Catawba at half.

Wingate and LMU boys losses were not surprising. I thought LMU would be dangerous IF they got paat Lander. USC Aiken choked the game away to Emmanuel. Wow that was bad.
