I wonder if Bethune follows Savannah State and comes back to D2. B-C was a SIAC member until 1979. I didn't realize until looking at it recently, that B-C is in the range of 3,600 for enrollment, that's a good size for D2 and fits into the overall enrollment range of the SIAC. I never like seeing schools close but with Paine losing accreditation and their NCAA future/overall future in jeopardy, the SIAC would benefit from adding both Edward Waters and Bethune-Cookman.

Another potential SIAC member has entered the picture: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/com...emb_Report.pdf
Allen is located across the street from Benedict. I don't know whether to expect them to be approved for Division II membership.

I haven't seen anything official from Allen's website (though that's probably because of reduced staffing due to the COVID pandemic). Even so, I would've thought that either the school or the SIAC would've announced something official by now.Originally posted by Inkblot View PostAnother potential SIAC member has entered the picture: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/com...emb_Report.pdf

EWC continues to work towards accepting the SIAC invitation. Earlier this year, announcements were made that three sports would be added and now it is being reported that Men's Volleyball is being added. It will play a SIAC schedule in the 2021-22 season under a similar agreement that football currently has.

One of the six SIAC schools adding men's volleyball was Paine. Yeah if it wasn't for the report of the July Membership Committee meeting we would not know anything about what is happening at Paine. Although Paine has been removed from the NCAA Directory, the SIAC still has them on their site. The opposite is true for New York Tech, still listed in the Directory but removed from the ECC site. Both schools still have the NCAA and conference logos on their landing pages.Originally posted by Inkblot View Post

Edward Waters adding the sport helps the SIAC get that all-important sixth team and the AQ in the future. Provided EWC actually does get to move to the SIAC.

Observations from the EWC men's volleyball presentation. It's sounding like EWC is going to try to apply to D2 in Feb 2021 in anticipation of being off NAIA probation by the time membership decisions are made in Jul. All EWC athletics programs is on "Probation through the end of 2020-2021 academic year". The representative from First Point Volleyball listed the SIAC members but did not list Paine College. The College is working towards University status.

I'm a fan of HBCU, I think they provide a great experience for students, but it should be fun to watch this dumpster file.

Agree it will be interesting to see and to see if any other HBCU coaches end up there as well.Originally posted by stealth View Posthttps://www.news4jax.com/sports/2021...him-last-year/

And it's official... EWC is now a D2 program:

EWC will begin provisional year one this fall as an SIAC member.
Also, Allen will repeat Provisional Year One of the D2 membership process; the reasons were not specified in the press release.Cal U (Pa.) Class of 2014
