  • Harding vs Ferris State

Here we go. Two teams that hold all the National Championships for the past 3 seasons. Harding the reigning and Ferris the 2x champions before that.

Harding is hot, even with starting off a little slow in the 1st both games so far, they are on fire. Keylon and all his backs are killing defenses. Ferris romped the UCO offense after the first, and had their own offensive explosion. I think this will be the “real” national championship, in the same realm as how HU vs GVSU was the real national championship last year. Whichever squad wins this game will win it all.

Interested to hear others takes here. Even with their 78 points against UCO, this Bison defense is on a whole different level than UCO. Harding 42 Ferris 28

Do you think GV offense was good - have you seen them through the last weeks going through 4 qbs. We have our own RPO that is much better than GV - ran for 488 on 53 carries and 200 yards passing. The whole concept is get you guys to chase and throw the ball. not an easy task and have to create turn overs and be patient we will see.

You guys passed 1 time today (60 times all year) - for us to win you will have 10 attempts passing next week. Have to put you in 3rd and long.

UCO averages 44 points per game - held to 17 today... so don't underestimate our Defense... close game 24-21 Ferris

Ole Bison there you go again - Pitt has a different QB then they had the first game - their QB1 got hurt against Pitt and QB2 came in with limited experience, he has a lot now

        Should be a great game!
A couple of great football cultures duking it out. I’ll take the gritty Bisons and defending Champs though.

Ferris by 13. Conditions won't matter. Harding's O is weather proof and Ferris could care less about weather. Either way this might be the National Championship game.

It IS the national championship. Both these teams are the creme of the crop of D2 this year. Both are at their absolute best at the right time (if Ferris has any big players out for injury I’m unaware). Should be a really great game. I think this game could easily be a slugfest or a shootout. I don’t see either team just completely running away with this one.

Series is at 1-1. Both games won by 2 points - Ferris led 21-0 going into the 4th Quarter and Bison scored 19 points in 4th. This will be a close game

Actually I wasn’t overly impressed by GVSU Off. Last 16 points came off a kick return and against reserves although we did sub back in the 1’s when they scored on 3rd and goal

No one has been impressed by their offense as they were going thru a few QBs this year due to injuries. They only scored 7 points against Ferris at their field beat them by 27 points. This was not an up season for them this year.

Region 3 is by far the best region

Some of us were trying to tell you that last week but some thought we were sandbagging. :)

I did because I thought you and us had the best 2 teams in the country last yr hands down and I also thought you were the best coached team we played. Still think a ton of your program and coaching staff.

I had an issue with you making this statement last week because it was last year, and GVSU is a different team this year. They have a fantastic program but don't have the same players on their team. I think you were blinded by the results of last year's game and didn't listen to everyone saying the team has a different lineup this year. GVSU will be a good team again next year but will still need to develop their rooster in the off-season.

I'm excited and nervous for this game. I think the conditions will be the same as last Saturday: cold and snowy. I think this doesn't hurt Harding at all. If anything, it helps their offense, as they just need to get 3-4 yards a play, and their scheme plays out for them. Ferris will be ok on offense, I believe. Annese and his son do a fantastic job breaking down defenses and picking them apart. They just need the ball to be able to do this, which means their defense needs to step up and get Harding to make mistakes and have plays that result in negative or zero yardage. They will be in the game if they can get them in 3rd and long situations or just stop them on 3rd and shorts. If Harding has possession of the ball for over 35 minutes in this game, they will win. I'm rooting for Ferris, but man, this is going to be a close one. I think it will be 35-24 Ferris with the "upset" :)
