first thing I have to say is, the pre season poll, when you look at it, UINDY, TRUMAN...I think everyone can agree with that but I don't think this is a year where you just put the teams who historically have been good recently in the 3,4,5 spot.

If you dive into returners, and new signees at each school (which no coach who voted did) then I do not think that poll should look the way it does.
So what is your main disagreement?

From my days covering, it seemed like Mck, SBU, and MoST were always in a scrum in the middle of the conference. QU has showed flashes at times that they might be moving into that next tier, but consistency (and defense) has been their bugaboo.

Jewell has to figure out a way to score more than 20 points per game in a season before they can even start to be competitive.

Do you think QU or WJC should move into the middle tier of the conference?

Per a release, you will now have to pay to live stream football games this season. GLVCSN partnered with Hudl.

Sucks for the fans, but the MIAA aparrently gets a little kick back for the media rights. I'm sure the GLVC will too!

We never had this problem until Upper Iowa came into the league 😂

But in all seriousness, there are schools that do a good job with their broadcasts and others who treat it like it’s just something else they have to do. The league office will be hearing from me if there are issues with cameras not catching the starts or ends of plays, or if the announcers are students who are just learning the game. Practice time was tolerable when I could tell myself I wasn’t paying anything. But if I’m paying and it’s a kid who doesn’t know what he/she is doing, that’s not going to work. We are blessed at Truman with Brad and Hank and their professionalism.

Always pulling for the underdogs Quincy and William Jewell. St Joseph used to be on the list. Don't think any of the three were fully funded? Plus privates. They need a new division just for that category. Jewell was the first GLVC team to beat U Indy in year three of the conference by a field goal at Key Stadium. Love the Jewell campus hill and bagpipes on gameday. Love Quincy Stadium with the old wall and shared baseball complex. They both add a lot of character to the conference. And I miss St Joe.

Agreed 100% If they take our money, the GLVC better get off their cans and visit each school right away with conference criterion standards for a quality game day production. No more greenhorns on the camera that try to follow the play like it was basketball or set up a mile away. No more students without a few semesters of training them first. Why in the world do they keep bragging they are the first conference to add a streaming network when they put out such a bad product??

                  2. Truman State 31 (1)
                  3. McKendree 22
                  4. Southwest Baptist 20
                  5. Missouri S&T 18
                  6. Quincy 14
                  7. William Jewell 6
I believe QU can be and will be a middle tier team, Lindenwood squeezed one out by 5 in 2021 when they were not very good, I'm sure you remember that fumble fest.

I would place them like this.
                  1. Indianapolis
                  2. Truman State
                  3. Quincy
                  4. SBU
                  5. McKendree
                  6. S&T
                  7. William Jewell

again, it is preseason polls, which do not mean anything, but if you look at what each team lost, and what they have gained I would shuffle it up.
the top 2 will be the top two when its all said and done. The middle is where it gets interesting and it starts with these two teams.

I have not seen one addition to the Mckendree roster that will make up for all of the losses due to transfers and graduation on the offensive side of the ball, or the defensive side of the ball, the poor defense was very well hidden due to how high powered they were on offense, and boy did they lose just about everyone except Yogi. Mckendree squeaked out a few wins strictly because of the signal caller. Easily could have lost to WJC, KWU, MST. 2 Top OL are gone, top 2 RB gone, QB gone, WR room only has Yogi left. too much to replace, haven't found any signees or transfers to fill those gaps, on social media or press releases.

I see why you say the Inconsistency of Quincy makes it hard to put a stamp that they should move into the middle tier- you mention defense, but I would argue that they have gotten better since you last covered. Simply look at the Ashland Scores ( a solid d2 team year in and year out)
                  2021 (5-5) Ashland 63-23
                  2022 (10-2) Ashland Conference Champs/ Rd2 playoffs 34-14

Lack of special teams play and inconsistencies with the offense plays a large part in scores and wins (25 turnovers, 143/163 in the nation)

1.)Special teams play cost them the game vs MS&T. 3 KO returns for 137 yards, a botched kickoff before halftime ST to cut the deficient to 21-14 instead of 21-11. The Offense gets stopped on 4th down to end the game.

                  2) Offense is high powered, but can sink real fast IMO - They put up big numbers against INDY, and cant do a thing against WJC- What's the problem?
Had UINDY on the ropes, with 5 turnovers- Uindy head coach says it openly at this year's media day. Quincy torched them.

3.)Lose to WJC 13-7. Offense scores 1 touchdown, and gives up a fumble for a touchdown. they netted 0 points.
                  1st 10:20 WJC - Mitchell,Sean 73 yd fumble recovery (Geelen,Paul kick) 7 0
                  2nd 14:52 WJC - Thomas,Jesse 20 yd pass from Ward,CJ (Geelen,Paul kick) 6 plays, 59 yards, TOP 02:39 14 0
                  3rd 06:57 QUI - Lee,Tremayne 9 yd run (Lenzen,Drew kick), 5 plays, 48 yards, TOP 01:58 14 7
                  4th 09:12 WJC - Geelen,Paul 35 yd field goal 8 plays, 36 yards, TOP 03:24 17 7
4.)Truman state game- its 24-19 at the half. Truman scores, then Quincy offense goes out and on consecutive drives throws a pick 6, and on the next play after the pick 6, they throw another interception down to the 6 yard line which results in a touchdown.

5.) The Defense does need to show up earlier in certain games, they return 10 starters from last year- played lights out in the second half of McKendree and the offense was overpowering, Showed up in the second half of the UINDY game- but ran out of time and turned the ball over too many times. Defense Singlehandedly beat Wash, and they held a WJC team to a TD and a FG. Offense loses more starters and has gaps to fill.

If the O and D gets on the same page- they will surprise a lot of people.. Add in all the transfers Mid Year On Offense and Defense, and from what I found on twitter.

                  4 Transfer DL
                  2 Transfer RB
                  3 Transfer WR
                  2 Transfer QB

no roster is posted online unfortunately.

My group doesn't care if they allow unqualified guys on the commentary, We can always mute them. What is so frustrating is that the GLVC allows such lousy camera work by some schools. Then their pointless response has been "we're not responsible for a school's production quality". It's gone on like this for years, so they obviously don't care. Sometimes it's as if the camera worker has never watched a football game on video.

UIndy fans saying the GLVC wants to make sure they get our money before we leave this conference.

I mean, I never thought I’d see the day the GLVC charged, but it’s here. Wherever UIndy decides to go, I’m guessing you all are going to be paying sooner rather than later (especially since the GLVC and GMAC offices are so close that what one does, the other tends to follow).

I think blueframe was sold to Hudl, so free may not be an option for the league anymore.

The conference saying "we're not responsible for a school's production quality" is like buying something from a store, finding out the quality is terrible, and the store responding that they didn't make the product therefore they are not responsible for the lousy quality that I bought from them.

As Chuck posted on social media, GMAC doing the same but not asking for our $75. Probably the GMAC isn't going to do the work to get to schools and ensure it's a product worth selling like our GLVC doing? GMAC and GLVC offices are neighbors, so maybe the GLVC talked it over with the GMAC and will announce their fee is waived??

"You can catch all G-MAC home games completely free on Hudl TV starting this fall."
