Here’s where I give my rant every year about how the GLVC is trash for U Indy

Undefeated in GLVC play means nothing to the NCAA’s regional ranking other than Earned Access. All of the following means nothing to them:

Latest D2Football Show put U Indy at 6th in the region ahead of Pitt St, Saginaw Valley St and Emporia St

And latest D2Football Poll ranks U Indy 3 places ahead of Emporia State and 8 places ahead of SVSU

Latest AFCA Coaches Poll has U Indy 151 vote points ahead of Emporia St and 308 vote points ahead of Saginaw Valley State

Latest SP+ Ratings put U Indy 5th in the Region ahead of Saginaw Valley St, Pitt St, Central Ok, and Emporia St

Inkblot Bracket through/after last Saturday Nov 2nd games places U Indy 5th ahead of Ouachita St, Emporia St and Saginaw Valley St (places Pitt St in different region bracket)

I'm also looking at the U Indy loss to Saginaw. U Indy plays SVSU without their 4 year starter captain Michael Freight Train Brown who I think is one of their only guys getting NFL interest so they play a true frosh and lose by 4. Didn’t pass as well in the Hurricane Helene rain but ran for 50 yards over the average for Saginaw’s Top 5 Rush Defense and put up more points on them than any other team this year. Also I can look at how Saginaw loses to Grand Valley by one score and bests U Indy by one score.

All this above yet First Regional Ranking has U Indy at 9th behind Emporia State & Saginaw Valley State??????

I know very little about Indy's team this year. What are their strengths and weaknesses based on what you have seen? It seems like GVSU, under the new coach, isn't looking for those big plays as much as they have in the past. They play with grit and want to establish the run. They seemed to struggle when they couldn't get the run going in the games I saw (SVSU and Ferris). Can, or has Indy stopped run-heavy teams this year?

GV isn't looking for the big plays because the pass offense is shockingly substandard. GV could easily lose this game today.
