Central Missouri @ Northeastern State, no brainer.

Central Oklahoma @ Nebraska Kearney. Tough call, but I think uco has too many weapons.

Missouri Southern @ Lincoln, if a tree falls in the forest...

Missouri Western @ Fort Hays State tough call again. I think mowest may be the better team, but the coach has done nothing to curb the dumb mistakes over the last few years, so I think hays will win.

Emporia State @ Pittsburg State--"Gus" versus "Corky"....Hmmmm? Let's see here....A 500 lb. gorilla versus a one-ounce bug? A head-scratcher??? Pssst! Pitt 55, Bee-State 21.

Washburn @ Northwest Missouri--Barely Bearcats more than enough for a clueless gay guy in yellow ski pants. St. Mel State 49, Ichs 17


Note: In any close home games late, bet on either of the MIAA's two High Plains teams, UNK or FHSU. While all other MIAA teams sit at a thousand feet or so, Kearney and Hays are perched at an elevation of over 2,000' each. The difference in a thousand feet may not seem like much unless you are a set of sucking fourth quarter lungs seeking desperately for that missing oxygen. Whether they recognize it or not, the air bags of Griffs and Broncs will experience this simple, subtle law of nature Thursday night. Incidentally, though they will certainly not need any help from geography for home wins against Northeastern or Lincoln, when the Tigers and Lopers do host them they will be facing teams from the two lowest elevations in the league: Talequah, 797' and Jeff City, 630'.
