  • Week 3

There are 3 games that Should be blowouts and 3 that might be pretty good this week. Since half the conference will have nothing to talk about, I offer this thread to discuss the games that might be good.

    Central Missouri @ Missouri Western
    Fort Hays State @ Washburn

    Lincoln @ Central Oklahoma
    Nebraska Kearney @ Emporia State
    Northeastern State @ Pittsburg State
    Northwest Missouri @ Missouri Southern

That UCM and MOWest game has me excited.
Looking ahead, the next week I am most excited about is OCT 12.

      UCM O=Nasty
      MW D=Nasty

      Something has to give.

MW O, with Stigerwaldt (sp?) is coming together really nicely, too.

MW played bonehead free last week. Will be interesting to see if they can do it again.

Yet still are averaging double the penalty yards of the rest of the conference. Opportunistic teams can take advantage.

Averages don't mean much two games in. If Missouri Western hadn't been whistled for a single penalty against Hays, their total would still be third highest in the conference because of the 113 yards against Northwest. It remains to be seen whether the Hays or the Northwest game was the anomaly. Even against Northwest, it wasn't as bad as it looked - 31 of the penalty yards were on a kick out of bounds, and they didn't have a late hit or unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Or maybe NW players jawed and got in their heads?

Nah, unless the jawing they were doing was the defensive line saying "Hold me!" Five of the nine penalties were holding.

Will ESU go as all in on the run against the willie fritz option? If they do, can UNK make them pay through the air?

Will the lopers be able to get enough pressure on Cowan to give the weaker back end of that D a fighting chance?

Really waffling on the Hays/Washburn game. Both teams are one dimensional on O. This will be a passing festival.

NSU has won 6 games in the last 5 seasons combined.

Pitt better not be the team who loses to them.

Schurig is always going to be an obstacle for Brown. It really depends on which QBs come out. Both young kids have shown flashes.

Washburn was like 90 out of 95 on third down conversions. All they did was run a quick slant and NW crapped their pants and couldn't figure that out.
