It's Horrible news surrounding the Choctaw/ Del City game. The families are in my thoughts.

there were a bunch of weird reports coming out of Choctaw on Friday night. I'm on a live scanner feed group and when they announced it within minutes of the shooting, there were dozens of people shot etc.
I've been at that very field in those very stands where the shooting took place. it happened on the visitors' side but none of the security at the games impede other fans from "visiting" the other side of the field. so, the kids from the visiting school are able to go to the opposite sides and trash talk and that's likely what started it. just me thinking.

the shooting took place on the Del City side of the field and the off duty Del City cop (there were 2 of them) has one of the weapons that was shot. how many rounds were shot and how many his gun had left in it are not being offered up yet. the man that supposedly pulled the gun first and shot "initially" is still on the loose. del city is keeping quiet, and they have both of the cops that were there on administrative leave. there were also 5 off duty Choctaw cops at the field. schools in Oklahoma at least in the OKC metro, employ off duty cops at events like this for paid armed security. they don't do it for free and they are carrying weapons.

4 total people shot, the 16-year-old who was from del city high school. 42-year-old male that was shot in the chest. a girl that was shot in the leg treated and released. and haven't heard who the fourth was/is...

not a bunch of coverage on this at least in my opinion. the person who is missing and thought to have been the initial shooter, no real info put out on him that i have seen. simply tall thin black male with braids and red sweatpants. Choctaw is not a big area or town. fairly compact in town then nothing but farmland for miles between there and the OKC metro. if this dude runs from the scene, the chances of him being found walking somewhere is pretty good. but haven't heard anything. del city and Choctaw are probably 20 miles apart and Choctaw is not very "diverse" if you catch my drift. he should have been seen with all of the support heading into Choctaw from outside. it was mentioned they had to bring in a clean-up crew for the stands where the shooting took place. the 16 yo was shot in the groin. likely hit the femoral artery. again, no one knows what anyone's role was. but as quiet as things are, it's kind of suspicious to me. del city and Choctaw have been taken out of the investigation and it's been handed over to Oklahoma county and OSBI.

as many years as I've been involved in football in Oklahoma, I've never seen less than 2 cops at an organized function like a high school game. so, it's not like security was the problem. the fact that Choctaw had so many there tells me they may have been expecting something because Del City does have a bit of a rep.

if NOTHING else comes out of this, the ossaa (Oklahoma secondary school activities association) needs to make sure that the two fan bases are completely and totally separated. there have been straight up brawls in the state the last two years because fan bases are able to interact with each other. and these kids this day and age can't control themselves. wether they are showing off or just are not able to walk away. clearly, you add a gun to the mix, you've got huge problems.

The bods always play Pitt tough. It's like they have a gorilla voodoo doll. Look at last year, Pitt throws 4 picks in the first 9 games, then 3 against WU who didn't have a great secondary. It turned a beat down into a fairly close game..

The year before, Sexton plays the worst game of his life (Not counting that Fiasco where Beck decided he should be a veer qb against NW) and puts Pitt in a hole. Even then, Dodson digs them out only to have the game winner blocked.
