  • Pitt St at Ft Hays

The #2 Gorillas better fix a few things and work out the kinks!

Think Pitt will have too much talent. NSU was slow in the secondary and got ripped up on passes that won’t happen against Pitt.

Defense actually had some semblance of the old defenses played 5 years ago. Played 8 or 9 dline. Overall looked solid. Don’t think they’re world beaters currently as the talent just isn’t there at NSU but this team looked tougher.

    guessing a 31-17 Pitt win

There might be only couple conference teams that can score on us this year, and you think Hays is going to score 17?

Hays looked organized and efficient on both sides.
I think they will be a tough out.

Yikes. Let's wait and see if the D is that good, or if WU was just that bad.

That said, the fact that Stallard drinks hot dog water is in Pitt's favor.

Thatd be a recent historically bad Washburn offense.

Its interesting looking at the offensive numbers for the conference. Is our defense getting that better, is our offense getting worse. The top offensive team in the conference over the last 8 seasons averaged nearly 40 pts per game. the last 2 years its been in the low 30s.

Guess your probably right. Shame y’all have to spend all that gas money when all you’re going to do is trounce us. Just blessed to be on the field with the red and gold.

I mean, if we are honest, Hays wouldn’t even be relevant if it weren’t for Brown, a Pitt State guy. Maybe they will be much better than last year. After last nights game, I think our defense is much better too. Maybe 2014 levels?

It's cyclical. Someone comes up with an amazing wrinkle that makes the offense hard to stop, and offenses run wild for a while. Eventually defenses figure them out, and it's rock fight central for a few years.
                      Rinse and repeat.

Last year's pitt d was better than 2014. 2014 D gave up big chunk plays.

True, but that scoring defense was pretty elite, and generated a ton of turnovers.

An interesting year for you to compare your defense to. Was a fun game at CSS that year.

Yea Brown and Harris both Pitt guys congrats at stating a fact that a lot of good coaches were players that came from good teams. Astute observation there professor.

Should have been a different outcome in 2014. Your only score that game came from a fumbled interception in the endzone. Should have been 6-0, 9-0 if you didn't block that kick. Just saying the MIAA was at one point full of Pitt guys. Maybe, because Pitt, the MIAA is relevant. And of course the god of football Mel T.
