Final Pick'em Results

We had an almost 50/50 game this week as 24 of the 46 members making picks called Emporia. We had one huge upset as 43/46 called Western. 42/46 called Washburn, 45/46 called Pitt and everybody called Northwest. 1 of the 3 to call Southern, Savannahcat, also called all of the other favorites and took honors for the week at 5-0.

Each of last weeks co-leaders called an upset, they each called a different upset and they both called the wrong upset. As a result there is no change at the top so GetGRIFFedUp & LiNcOlN bLuE tIgErS become our 28th & 29th different (co)champion out of the 33 (co)champions we have had going back to 2002.

GetGRIFFedUp becomes just the 5th (co)champion to be a fan of a team that finished at least 2 games back in the standings. 27 of the other (co)champions were a fan of a team that either won the conference or finished only a game back.

LiNcOlN bLuE tIgErS becomes the first (co)champion that is a fan of a team that is not in the conference. However, with 10 of Lincoln's 11 games against MIAA teams, it's not like being a fan of a team in the PSAC. Also there was no pressure that some feel to always call "their" team.

This season had some surprises. Emporia was strong then faded. Northwest's offense stuttered then recovered, but too late. Hays and Mowest were much improved. Pitt was good, as expected. Central Missouri was the success story of the year with ZZ.at QB. Good luck in the playoffs to the Gorillas and Mules. Thanks Randy!
