Speaking of rankings, how much will the Week 0 games affect rankings such as AFCA and the D2 polls, if any? Is one game against an OOC opponent that much of an indicator?Comment

The only thing I sort of dislike about playing ranked teams ooc to start the season is that those tend to be the sloppiest games for a team, and sometimes a team can out athlete another early on the back of a couple of reallygood players. Come mid or late season when that team is all gelled and playing complimentary ball the game could often go the other way.Originally posted by lleachieshusband View Post
Some of NW’S game one struggles during their run come to mind. It seems like more than once they lost a G1 against a team they beat soundly in the playoffs.

Mel’s teams lost season openers 4 times in years they made the title game(‘99 ‘07,’08 & ‘09) going 2-2 in AL those years. They also lost Mel’s last season opener in ‘10 then narrowly losing to UMD in the semi Freezer Bowl
