I think the following teams are looking for a starting QB;
NW, ESU, UCO, UNK, WSU, MW (If I'm missing any, let me know)

How are the QB battles going for these teams, and who are the front runners?

NW has been looking for the next KZ since ‘17

Considering Reagan Jones is a grad transfer with significant MIAA playing experience and represented the Lopers at media day, it would be quite a surprise if he's not the starter at Chadron next week. I'm less sure about who the backup will be but my assumption would be redshirt freshman Abram Scholting. JUCO transfer Brenden Bush is the only other non-true freshman QB on the roster but he wasn't with the team in the spring.

Yeah, as soon as he transferred to UNK in January he became the starter. Not really a battle at all as he was facing a redshirt frosh and 2 true frosh (one being a regular student last fall). JUCO kid came in late and is probably behind the freshmen at this point.

Runke has been taking a majority of the No 1 snaps from what I hear.

From the occasional 5 minutes of practice I watch, Gundy and Ricke both look pretty good. Haven't heard any solid rumours on who will be #1, but I'd be surprised if they don't both get chances.
