If that UCO education was worth anything you would be able to read AND comprehend….. but we don’t expect anything less from you

Hands down, I've got to believe this is the best performance by a NW secondary in at least two years, especially against a quality opponent. Maybe three. And, for this Bearcat defense performance, doing it against a #11 ranked team noted for its passing efficiency. Good job, guys!

You realize that was our backup for most the game right?

I think you just COMPLIMENTED the UCO guy by writing "but we don’t expect anything less from you" If you wanted to slam the guy you would have written MORE. Just saying.

I get that. But, like I said earlier, your hotshot QB Gundy had hit only 28.5% of his passes (6/21 and one interception) in the first half. Your QB #14 Ricke is experienced (19/38 and no interceptions). And, even despite his better passing efficiency, he also performed better. Ricke is gutsy.

Wasn't the starter only 6-21 for 50 yards though? Doesn't seem like he was doing much better.

You do know how stats work right? What is his average attempts each week? It damn sure isn’t 21. Ricke isn’t what got us to 4-0 and #11.

So yeah, NW did play a hell of a defensive game, but let’s not pretend like that means much given the circumstances.

The reason you can’t compare Gundy’s numbers from this game to his usual performance is simple: he barely got to throw the ball compared to what he normally does. He had only 21 pass attempts before he got pulled, but this guy usually sling it 40+ times a game!

If you take a small sample (like 21 passes) and judge it, it’s like saying a player sucks after missing a couple of shots in the first quarter, but they’re usually draining buckets when they get their usual attempts.

If Gundy had played the whole game and thrown his usual passes, the stats would have likely evened out and looked way different. His completion percentage and QBR would be way better because he’d get into rhythm, find his groove, and do what he does best—move the offense downfield.

Now, comparing that to Ricke, yeah, he did alright, but let’s not act like he’s the one who got us to 4-0 and ranked #11 in the country. It’s Gundy who’s been lighting it up all season. Just because Northwest Missouri played good defense doesn’t mean you can pretend Gundy’s first-half stats are the whole story.

So yeah, the defense showed up, but don’t act like a small sample of Gundy’s throws is an accurate reflection of what he typically does. If he had his usual volume, it would’ve been a different ballgame.

At the end of the day none of that **** matters. We couldn’t punch it in on the 1. We couldn’t kick field goals. It should have never been that close in any scenario. Good scrappy win by NW

You won the turnover battle by +6 and still lost. Have to give a hat tip to Nw no matter who was at QB.

Glad we are just stating the obvious here.

If 21 pass attempts isn't enough for a QB to get into a groove then that's an entirely different problem. That's half of his usual attempts in a game so not sure I'd describe it as barely got to throw the ball. Delusional take.

The odds of missing 2 FG’s, turning the ball over 7 times(with a -6 TO margin), giving up a safety AND winning the game must be near zero. Crazy
