If you can defeat a team 34-7 and still be 2 spots below them, the system is flawed. Especially if your only loss is to the team right ahead of you. Grand Valley should be 4 at best. Silliness.

Those are just raw numbers. I think head to head will matter when the actual rankings are released.

This is not an official ranking, it's simply math based on win % + SOS. To be fair to GVSU, they have a crazy good SOS. And their PI is 4 positions better than Ferris in spite of the loss. That being said, I agree and I would see the official ranking as this:
          1) Ouachita Baptist
          2) Pitt St. (H2H over Ferris)
          3) Ferris St. (H2H over GVSU)
          4) Grand Valley St. (Superior SOS compared to remaining teams in hunt)
          Unseeded: Harding, Indy, UCO.

Maybe I’m terribly naive, but I would think the rankings would be a bit closer to the Top 25 from AFCA. Would it be awesome for OBU to get a bye and a home game? Absolutely, but seeded higher than all three of FSU, GVSU, and Pitt? It seems, off. Even if we are the only undefeated and beat Harding.

We're still a highly ranked squad in our own right and we've been seeded #1 before in years when we didn't deserve it. I think we are in the driver's seat for the #1 seed as things stand. Just can't lose focus against the Reddies since that game always has the Red River Shootout effect where the low ranked squad can come out swinging against the favorite. If we drop that one we'll be lucky to even get Top 4

Sadly no. Not this year. Maybe next year with the move to SR4. Hays is a scary good team. Brown did quite the turnaround job.

But if you want to do his alma mater a favor and beat ESU, well it would be appreciated.

Probably not, but the fate of the free world is dependent on Hays beating ESU.

Everyone short changing ESU. I could honestly see them winning out.

No doubt. I may be letting “history” influence me overly much. As we saw last week, and HU proved least year, even recent history doesn’t put points on the board. You are also right about BotR. Our respective standings have never really counted when it comes to that game 😅 and we both know that HSU will relish the spoiler role. Still feels a little weird to come over to these other topics and see OBU listed as a prospective #1 and non-GAC commentators not immediately calling for blood!

They’re a damn good ball team with a lot left to play for. Crossing my fingers we can dash those hopes.

So EA bumps ESU for now?

I’ve got no problem with an undefeated OBU team being ranked # 1 in the region. If it were an undefeated HU team I’d expect no less even though our SOS’s would be lower than the MIAA and GLIAC teams. I got my doubts about OBU being able to generate enough offense to win a second round PO game against GVS but if the two defenses made it a low-scoring rock fight, I could see the Tigers pulling it off.
