When they brought ZO for a couple series after CR got poked in the eye, it seemed like a lot of hand offs and quick passes…only one designed run and it seemed to me ZO got up pretty slow. Then CR came back in…I’m still thinking some type of ailment that they’re hoping will heal, but not so severe that he was available in an emergency situation.

Yeah, I felt the same way. Some kind of injury, hopefully not too serious. The fact JMac sent ZO in to relieve Ruhnke instead of Sophomore QB Jay, kind of told me if ZO maybe tweaked something in practice, they felt better with him handling the handoffs or quick short passes, which if there is an injury involved with ZO, not likely JMAC would have jeopardized putting him at that point if it was of a more serious nature. QB Jay did get to come into the game in the 4th Qtr and hit his only pass for 10 yds. He's got a nice BIO.

McMenamin said postgame that he was injured in practice. Myers and Ruhnke said the same.

They clearly weren't going to say much, but the vibe I got was if things were going well with Chris, then you have the luxury of resting Owens. They put up 41 points so it went well enough. The fact that he came in when Chris lost his contact seems to be a strong indication that its simply rest and precautionary. BTW guys, $29 for a year gets you all this and more in the game stories and previews with the Maryville Forum 😉
