Good to see you posting again, when you think things are going well for you. Hope you don't disappear so quickly again if you run into a more complete team. We miss you embarassing yourself in the OT.

    • Game went about as expected. The better team easily won. NW tried to put it on CR and as I said before, he needed the best game of his life and that never came close, especially first half. I couldn't see exactly how the INT was tipped, so not sure it was his fault, but regardless, probably shouldn't have been thrown in the first place. Surprised how easily we were able to run the ball overall, but a lot of really questionable play calling throughout the game, especially in the first half that put the game even further out of hand. Really disappointed with calls at the 2 yard line, the end of the 1st half play calling that resulted in a FG on what should have been a TD.

Defensively, you could just see the talent difference from the past NW defenses. Less committment to assignments, less speed, slightly worse angles to tackles. Lot of arm tackles, not as many wins at the LOS. All things that simply added up from previous, successful NW defenses that are required to stop a good, triple option team. Lack of play disruption, Harding able to do as they pleased, and you can't generate turnovers with easy pitches and effective cut blocks all game.

Harding should cruise into the semi's and probably run into another rematch with Ferris. Good luck to them. NW fans know the talent drop off was real the last 5 years. Exposed even more the last 2 weeks, but JM has given some hope and excitement again, and that will bring some of that talent back. Feels like we can be back to playoff competitive. Dominant is a ways a way, but if we can keep some of the young talent that hasn't seen the field yet (especially at QB), might have a chance and it feels good to believe again.

The pass deflected off Bearcat WR Erwin Nash and literally bounced high and away from him ... about 5 yds ... literally into the middle of three Bison defenders according to BOTH John Coffey and the other guy who replaced Matt Tritten (sorry, name escapes me ... but he really did an AMAZING job replacing Matt) for this game.

If NW Bearcat fans can stomach watching these Harding (only Harding) highlights, that play showing when that pass deflection occurred off of #8 Nash and intercepted by Harding starts at 0:20 of the highlight video.

The pass was low and behind the receiver. It bounced off the receiver’s shoe. Kind of 1-in-million type bounce.

This was the view I saw too live. Wasn't sure if it hit the WR, defender or what. Thanks.

Receiver had no idea the ball was thrown his way. Still running down the field, hit off his foot. Definitely an amazing bounce Harding way and still a trash passing play by NW.

The Jekyll/Hide of Chis Runke career. Great Game, Bad Game, Good Game, Bad game. He is known for behind the receiver passes, Low passes, High Passes. What really surprised me was how you all absolutely torched our run defense. I think that Bostwick did a fantastic job this year, but laid a paper plate style turd on defending the Triple Option, unlike his predecessor who sucked as a HC but could scheme for the Harding offense.
                  Best of luck going forward.

I think the scheme was exactly the same. I just think we’ve finally found some answers and were finally able to get some movement up front against the DL. Also better in the backfield than we’ve ever been.

Hahahah I’ve just had a lot going on. Not having time to dismantle you is a good thing for both of us.

We were sitting at the 30 yard line about 15 rows up and as they lined up for the play I turned to my wife and said "They're gonna pass it to #8." Not sure why I was convinced at the time this was about to happen, but sure enough, they passed it to him and he wasn't even looking back as it hit his foot and went straight up in the air. Craziest play I have seen in a long time.

Nothing wrong with Boswick scheme. Same “bear defense” (3 big DTs clogging up the middle). Bisons just had the personnel to deliver 600-pound double teams). Something we didn’t have in previous years against the Bearkitties.
