  • Tarleton - FB Playoffs

Has anyone mentioned that Tarleton will only have 9 D2 games? We are all in agreement I think that they are a national contender this year, but one slip up could cost them severely. 2 losses and they are definitely out of the playoffs.

Tarleton will go undefeated and win the NC. MHO.

I think they have a good chance to run the table but, 9 D2 games will be held against them when the playoffs are seeded just like last year.

I think game of the year for the LSC will be us against Midwestern again. Thank God it is at home for us this year!

A little early to be talking Playoffs. A lot of football left to play.

This is like Super Bowl fever after the Vikings win their opener at home. If they lose at Green Bay next week those same fans will be making doctor appointments to get anti-depressant medication.

1-0. Let things play out- or at least get past Homecoming.

Everyone was so pumped for the start of the season. Let’s not start talking about the end of it quite yet.

I agree 100%. Was about to say that until I read your post.

I am not sure most posters realize just how good they are!

BUT.........It is football and ANYTHING can happen.

Tarleton is better this year than they were last and that is saying a lot. They have at least 3 or 4 guys who can turn a first down into a touchdown. But anything can happen to derail their season. Injuries, costly turnovers, of just flat out have an off day.

Defense is solid especially the secondary. Offensive line did not seem to be an issue with 4 new lineman.

Unbelievable favorable schedule also. Seriously, you open your new stadium with Doane. Then upgraded from Lincoln Mo to Jewel. Not exactly games Tarleton will lose sleep over.

I’m sure coaching staff is only preaching Doane this week. One game at a time gentleman.

I think y'all might wanna pump the brakes a bit but that's just my opinion. I'm sure they will pound WT in a couple weeks and be a force this year. But they've only played one game. Just my opinion

If we get back to the original post, I wasn't speculating anything about Tarleton's success. Just pointed out that one slip up could be lethal to their season.

I think you are spot on. Regardless of talent level it’s always better to give yourself the best shot. And now 1 loss is magnified, as well as playoff rankings per TSUTexan.

Maybe Tarleton has the same challenge as TAMUC, but regardless of the reasoning it certainly weakens a resume.

TSU tried to schedule Ferris State and/or Valdosta State, but they would not travel to play, so Doane was the choice.

And now I'm thinking of what might have been between Tarleton and Valdosta.
