OT: Basketball Dirty Play

We had some videos in the past about intentional hits on football players in high school games.

This video show what has to be one of the worst cheap shots I have ever seen in sports. An elbow to the face. The player throwing this elbow should be charged with assault. It occurred in a DIII basketball game.

Seems like outright assaults in games are more prevalent today vs back in the day. Some of is condoned because Coach's are so determined to win at all costs and for job security, they will overlook minor discretions which eventually build up to this.

Used to be when someone wanted to get even or pick a fight with someone, they at least tried to involve it with a play such as coming out from a pile or if you took on a late hit. Or in basketball, wait till the guy that was getting on your nerves elbowed you or something. But now, all bets are off.

Minnesota recently had a case of a football player's family suing the state high school league for suspending him. He was caught on film trying to hurt the opposing team's QB with a backside hit. He had previously gotten into trouble for kicking an opponent in the head in a previous game.

I'm trying to decide who I should be more upset with. The out of control kid, or the idiot parents who stick up for him. I'll pick the parents- they should know better.

This is a direct reflection of SOCIETY.

No one is really held accountable. So what....this THUG gets expelled and moves on with the same f***ing attitude. No real penalty as far as he is concerned.

Instead......arrest his A$$ and give him 2-3 weeks of HARD LABOR on an old fashioned chain gang. Bet he won't throw anymore elbows.

The point is, society has moved so far left that immoral behavior is acceptable. There really isn't "punishment" any longer. Even in the worst jails & prisons....it's a cake walk compared to the way it was. 3 squares a day....no work....no labor. Just some dominoes, cards, tats, and some time in the yard. Whoop-de-do!! Boot camp makes prison look like a wimp vacation.

I say.....create unbelievably harsh penalties for immoral and/or illegal acts.....and NO ONE gets "plea" deals. And to h3ll with this society's PC, poor Johnny's feelings and rights BS. Wanna play? You PAY!

Agree with Pops. Thugs come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds. It is BEHAVIOR that determines whether someone is a thug or not.

That being said, the Kid has been kicked off campus immediately and has also been suspended without a set time to come back. Strong indication he will lose his scholarship and be kicked off campus and expelled because this was really bad.

You ought to take this to the OT. Several SJW over there will eat your butt out over your attitude. Your problem is you just don't get it. This guy is merely acting out his frustrations with his plight in society. How hard it is today. How unfair everything is today. How racist everyone is. How sexist everyone is. How bigoted society is. Especially white males. And it all filters back to the founding of the country. Need to arrest a kid that does this on the spot. Cuffed in front of the crowd, charged with assault. period. Every school in the country has cops working security. Just watch the film and then arrest the idiot. I kinda think this charge is a slam dunk.
