Easy to second guess, but.... Take the 3 points earlier and kick the XP instead of going for 2, and a FG wins it right now...

Man, just when I thought The Lions were going to have a chance to win, they fumble

Best game of the season for the Lions

        Good game.

          Yes, I was premature.

Nice comeback by Commerce. Wilson was throwing amazing passes and the receivers were actually catching them!

Good luck to Tarleton next week.

Congrats Texans for proving you are the best in the LSC this year. Now go bring that hardware back to Texas. Also, congrats to Commerce for showing everyone how a Champion goes out. I thought we might get it done at the end there.

Observations and opinions and impressions...I made the drive down to Stephenville...first off, it was a very entertaining game...I enjoyed it, even though my rooting interest lost...

The facility was underwhelming, the temp bleachers were terrible, not enough "angle" to them, so ended up standing the whole time, so I could see, I'm a short guy...and they had the Texan band behind the Lions bench area? In another set of temp bleachers? Kind of a bush league move...the could have put the Texan band in the temp bleachers in the end zone...and the Lions band behind the Lions bench...just saying. Also, the PA system was terrible, couldn't understand a dang thing being said...

Pre-game, a Texan player came over to the visitors section and flipped off the Lions fans...won't post the players number, he is a kid and his brain is not fully formed yet...the reaction by the Lions fans was not what I would call favorable, especially by one fan, who did have a fully formed brain...regardless...

As was said...Martinez put on a kicking clinic...was watching him in the warm up and he was drilling them from 50+ yards, then he was automatic in the game...the Lions scored 7 times to the Texans 6 scores...can't win a game kicking FGs while the other guys are scoring TDs.

The second Texan TD should not have stood, at least in my opinion...there was what appeared to be a block in the back right in the middle of the field...but again, the bleachers were terrible, so maybe my angle was bad...

Play calling by the Texans was simple and effective, seemed like they ran the same play, over and over and over...Lions play calling was puzzling at best, 4 designed run plays in the second half, 5 if you want to count the "incomplete pass" on the goal line...The Texans pass rush was just teeing off on the Lions...you have to run the ball some to slow them down...The Texans were patient, the Lions were not.

Wind was interesting...you could see it affecting the kicks...wasn't sure about the passing, the Lions had a lot of balls thrown behind receivers, or was it the wind pushing the ball that way...too many dropped balls by the Lions...

The Lions took care of the football reasonably well...except for the pick in the red zone and the strip sack on their last snap...not going to count the punt that hit the Lions with the wind pushing the ball all over the place...and call me Captain Obvious, but the two turnovers were killers for the Lions...one of the turnovers the Texans turned into a TD, the other ended the game...the Lions on the other hand, turned 3 of the Texans turnovers into points...unfortunately for them, they were all FGs.

Overall, I thought both teams played well enough to win the game, the Texans were just better...

Interested to see how the Texans fare in Mankato next weekend...weather seems to be okay, high of 34, low of 25...10-20 mph winds so its gonna be chilly...

                          Like I said, entertaining game...

This one is probably Tarleton specific. They had to have a police escort stay with them at all times most of the season last year because their players tore up hotel rooms and locker rooms on road games, and also got caught stealing things from the schools they played at, one of their coaches involved in this too. Not to mention they've got a linebacker that faces a pretty serious trial that could put him away for a long time soon.
