Lions busses just left out from Commerce with police escort. They have a good weather window to fly out tonight.

Dominant performance for the Lions defense. Mines had their chances early but turnovers caused by the Lions doomed the Orediggers. A few thoughts....

Defense is playing lights out at all 3 levels. The Lion D-Line was stellar, and DC Adibi is calling all the right shots. 10 sacks and 4 turnovers Vs Mines.

Offense is not pretty all of the time but is effective most of the time. Smalls has carried the team with his legs lately, CSM shut down the run game from the RB position.

The Lions have played their best ball the last few weeks which has a lot to do with the coaching staff. They have had the Lions prepared and the early returns on Bailiff and Co. continue to be stellar.

I thoroughly enjoy watching the Lions play unfamiliar teams in the playoffs, which was my only gripe about playing Tarleton in the first round. The backdrop for that game was the coolest I’ve seen the Lions play at, stunning really. Thanks for your hospitality this weekend Mines, back to the books you go :)

The Lions seem to be peaking at the right time. It looks like Baliff was the right man for the job. Good Luck this week.

Hold the attaboys until he is playing with all his recruits and not the Carthel's.

His schemes on offense and defense look good.
I have fat thumbs sorry for typos!

They seem to be very good at finding the right D1 grad/transfer to fill holes so far. Miklo here at qb for 2 more years should help with recruiting in the near term.

Bailiff has well exceeded expectations at this point and is my COY. Definitely out coached Whitten in playoffs and has the Lions at the doorstep of a regional title.

To your point, he recruited QB Smalls so he has it in him and you know how critical I have been about the Lions hiring him. But, so far he has proven that an old dog can learn new tricks. The longer the Lions season extends the more opportunities to attract better players. Winning attracts winners.

Plus, it won’t be that difficult to have a better recruiting class than last year where they recruited 53 WRs.

Not only Smalls, but he brought in Terrell Collins (D1 Arkansas) who has been probably our best defensive player, Ronathon Elmore at DE who was a beast before injury knocked him out early in the year for the entire season, Chris Williams (Louisville) who has been very good as well, etc. and without much time to recruit. There's also a Texas Tech DE that came in late but hasn't played, appears to be redshirting. Id look for more of a D1 transfer presence on the team moving forward than we have been in the past, due to his connections to those coaches. But from what I've heard he's a great recruiter too, so we will see how it goes in his first full season....although these long playoff runs cut that time short too ;)

Well, as long as he can recruit those talented LBs who can also double as RBs the Lions will be in great shape. LOL

I'd love to comment, but Turbo would just get pissy about mentioning it so I wont ;)

But in all seriousness, next season getting back EJ Thompson, Carandal Hale, JT Smith (who was supposed to be awesome) and a freshman I've been hearing REALLY good things about, we should be really good at RB again....especially with how well we have run this season without that level of talent.

So you feel he is the REAL DEAL and not riding Carthel's coattails?

                            If so, thats simply awesome!!

i would now agree on COY.....for sure.

My take is he has done more than should be expected. Every school wants a coach that can outperform the resources of the program, and thus far Bailiff (& co) has done so.

Your potential criticism may be fair since we haven’t seen his long term recruiting, but as of today this staff has earned credibility.
