    I agree with Optimist Prime!

What is your take on the new OC? Run run run or a balance? Does Lynn have any say on which it is? My impression was last year he just let Justin run the offense the way he wanted.

To be fair, I'll give Lynn credit for the defense and the kicking game.

He likes to throw. Especially when it isn't working.

Well, should be about like last season then. I can't remember a time I ever saw so many three and outs from three straight passing plays! Bane loved to throw also

We still need to find a Martinez-like, highly skilled QB, which will be hard.

          • I will say this. If Lynn cant win a LSC championship or at least a playoff spot in 2026 with all the coaching changes and NIL losses to the top teams, when will he ever?

Definitely. Hoping Bleil can help with recruiting in the portal. That was Banes best contribution IMO

I enjoy watching the D2 playoffs, because teams I have rarely heard of show up and perform with such skill. Kutztown is a good example. Their QB, Judd Novak, amazed me last year with his skills. He was great at passing and running, but he was mainly really smart. He threw for over 3,000 yards and 31 TDs but only 1 interception. It was also great to see our former QB Kanon Gibson do so well, nearly getting by Harding in the playoffs. Quality coaching really benefitted him. Instead of warming the bench behind Sean Johnson, a great athlete, but who just chunked it when pressured, he WAS the UTPB offense in the playoffs.

The Ferris coach, Tony Annese, is a level or two above most of his fellow D2 coaches. He takes a lacrosse player, makes him the starting QB, and wins a national championship. He plays multiple QBs per game. If someone gets hurt, no problem, he just inserts someone else who does well. Why he isn't coaching D1 is really surprising. He's won 4 of the last 5 D2 national championships and has been in the championship game 5 other times.

There are plenty of other great D2 coaches, but if you compiled a list of the top 50, where would Lynn be?

Their noncons are pretty brutal this year. Losing both may keep them out of the playoffs. It will give them very little margin of error, for sure.

Before 2025 I would completely agree. The automatic bid for the conference champ gives you a little more breathing room. That being said if they start out 0-3 and that first conference loss to Angelo State, then you likely can turn off the nights and the party is over in September.

Yeah. I was thinking they would have to run the table afterward if they lost both noncons.

How does the LSC settle ties?

                      • WT biggest loss will be Banes recruiting ability. A lot of the times the offense was nothing more than backyard football which with the talent he brought it worked very well at times. WT is definitely benefited rom the coaching turnover in the LSC with the HS recruiting piece. Now can they go out and get the same caliber of late transfers they got last year?

                          That scenario is very likely.

I would assume through the normal tiebreak procedures but if there is a 3 way tie with no clear winner then maybe highest regional ranking Gets the spot?

                            I need to research.

The MIAA just calls it a tie. Any tie breakers are up to the playoff committee or process.

It could always be like Southland Conference basketball tiebreakers 3 teams and above. Whoever loses to the less $hittiest team gets the championship.
