UTPB has the luxury of being open about their signings since they are one of the best teams in the LSC.

WT hasnt beaten a playoff team since 2021 (ASU) and hasnt made the playoffs since 2013.

I would keep everything secret too in risk of losing those players to the top 3 LSC teams.

NOTHING is "secret" between coaches & programs. Everyone knows exactly what everyone else has and is doing.

It might be kept "secret" from the public & Alum.

UTPB is still avery young program. I assume they ate trying to build more alum support. So putting out info probably helps their cause.

UTPB has been really open about their transfer signings, they have brought in a haul.

I hope WT does really have some unspoken players transferring in. They need it to keep up

As usual I take the same stance as Tech fans with WT the last 12 years. Optimistic in August and crushed by October.

It will be interesting to see how far down the depth chart at these power 5 schools they were and if they are able to transition to D2 and contribute.

When I look at the schedule I see a 1-4 start with Lynn making excuses for his QB like in the past. “He’s only started n games 😢”.

I agree for the most part. I just remember back in 2014 (?) when Mark Venric from Northwestern transferred to WT and fans were claiming he would be the next Danny Woodhead and he did not do very much. Hopefully these transfers pan out.

Venric Mark was hurt much of his time in Canyon. If he had had a decent coach he might have been better. I did think he helped Geremy become a better back.

I lived in Illinois for 21 years and my nephew on wifes side graduated SIU you are correct about Wendler he ruined the football program and other sports at SIU. The man is past retirement age what is the University waiting for replace him already.

A&M is waiting for the right time to put someone else at WT who is just like Wendler.

The question isn’t when will he retire. The question is why would Texas A&M would put someone like that at WT to begin with. And the next question is, why do you think that A&M would make a better choice than Wendler the next time, when they have seemingly sung his praises ever since he was appointed?

WT supporters should be more concerned about A&M than who the president is. He would be just a symptom of a far more serious issue.

I was excited to watch him when WT came up to Pueblo but the WT offense was not talented enough to take advante of his skillset that's for sure. I believe there was a LB transfer from Syracuse for WT that year as well?

10 years ago, WT was light years ahead of Tarleton. Sports for sure, but literally everthing. Then, we got Hurley as Pres. Y’all got Wendler. 10 years later look at where we both are. My wife is an SIU grad. She saw her once mighty and proud University destroyed by Wendler. SIU is recovering now, but it has taken more than a decade to do so. WT is set on the SIU path. I mean, just look. Wendler is a cancer. He is a University killer. Why y’all can’t see it, why A&M is ok with it. I don’t know. WT should be squarely back in D1 looking to go FBS like Tarleton. Enrollment busting the seams, alumni screaming to move up. But there is even D3/NAIA murmurs. Wendler is a poisonous snake. I was taught to hate all things WT, but now I just feel sorry for you guys.
It’s so obvious. The cure is so obvious.

He was injured for most of his WT stay. Damaged goods.

Yeah the story on all of these players will be interesting to see. Mark had a major injury before transferring and was not the same player at WT as what he had been.

Athletes at the P4 level, even walk-ons, should carry their own in D2 with no problem. P4s don't let a bunch of wannabes take up roster spots, even before the new roster limit took effect.

The million dollar question. What keeps him around? 7+ wins?

The window has likely closed for more than 1 LSC team to make the playoffs other than the conference champs with realignment.

If a second LSC team makes it, they cant have more than 2 losses.

Better for a D2 school to bet on a transfer 2 or 3 star HS kid sitting on the bench at K-State than a no star HS kid hoping to maybe develop into a D2 contributor by his Jr year.
