A lot of traffic came from ACU, Commerce, and Tarleton supporters.

WT and Kingsville had lots of posters before their dropoff.

Only ones left are old timers (Pre Facebook and Myspace) and if WT, Kingsville, UTPB, etc. are able to build/back up their fanbase then they are going to look for facebook type forums and not this place.

I have said it before if WT gets a new president and takes the D1 leap then this place will be as quiet as the independent forum.
Commerce had one or two posters until Carthels built their program up. Sone of thise left the board before TAMUC moved on. For reasons I noted.

    Same with Tarelton.

ACU had a good number of posters.

UIW tried, but immediately they were ridiculed and laughed at about how bad they were. I tried to tell everyone they were running off posters, but it fell on deaf ears. Now who has the last laugh? As they are D1 sitting on top of the Southland at 4-1 and won tbe conference the past two years. I only wish some of their old d2 posters would comeback and shove it in the face of the crass posters that ridiculed them, but UIW has too much class for that.

Maybe as the old timers drop off, and new programs join the LSC it will attract the next generation of posters who want to talk football.

    We'll see.

I also remember talking to parents at schools other than Angelo and they were told specifically to stay off D2 messageboard. I remember coach Carr (Angelo State) asking, then telling me to stay off D2 messageboard...hahaha. Only one other Angelo parent was on Messageboard, majority listened to coach.

I know of many Angelo posters who got tired of D2 for the reasons I stated. Left and never came back. Some were daily contributors.

      Again, reread my Harley analogy.

I follow you and I think its only a matter of time before Tarleton and Commerce catch up and are competitive in FCS.

Commerce was a 2 point conversion away from defeating a FBS team in their house a few weeks ago.

It is the times we are in. Most of the new programs will have young fans and they will go to either the school or ESPN facebook pages to have their discussions.

I personally go to the Texas Longhorns Facebook page and other programs facebook pages to discuss.

If there is a Big 12 message board I am not aware of it.

As much as I like this message board I think its more of a relic of the past.

Young fans only know of Facebook because it became Meta and owns Instagram. Haha.

TAMUC & TSU will probably get better, but UIW has national exposure and their program is top notch. They are attracting some big time players. Plus their education blows away any state school in my opinion. Look for UIW to make the jump to FBS soon. That has ALWAYS been the end game.

As far as football messageboards...my undergrad alma mater has 7+ that I know of. I hear about many more. Big 12 has messageboards as well.

Your everyday student of lite fan has never cone to D2 or any other messageboard and always uses social media. It's the diehard fans, boosters, olayers family etc that seek out the "hardcore" fan sites and bypass facebooks, etc...

I stand by my statements you responded to.
