  • Why Did UTPB Win 96-0?

Why did UTPB, with a new HC and a slew of new players including 16 true freshman, win 96-0? Are they THAT good??

    Here is the reason:

    Hmmmmm....🤔

TC screwed up bad with the compliance issue, then they compounded it by playing the game. PB probably blows them out anyway, but that can put the health of the TC players at risk.

Hard to compete when 22 starters and their back-ups are out.

So, basically UTPB competed against 3rd stringer NAIA players.

Guess we shall see what they have this week against WesCo. who beat WT 28-6.

Could UTPB be the real deal??

Not based on playing Texas College, North American, Panhandle State, etc. If so, Hughes would still be coach at WT.

In 2021 WT beat Texas College 73-0 in the home opener. The following week the Buffs fell on their face against UTPB 31-42, but they were behind at one time by 17-42. The rest of the season was typically lame until WT faced Bethel College (enrollment about 500) and blasted them 52-9. That improved the record to 7-4. No wonder so many thought WT would win 9 or 10 games last year.

Well, 96 points is a lot to score. Even for let's say a bad team. Does that mean a UTPB offense vs other LSC teams are good for 28-30 pts a game?

I am very interested to see if this UTPB team can compete with WesCo. It will be nice to compare their game with WesCo vs WT's game vs WesCo.

The transitive property has never been proven to work for college football.

"Proven"? No.But it is used in sports all the time. Look at rankings, standings tie breakers, etc...

However, Mt point was UTPB hung 96 pts on a NAIA that had 25 players pulled, 12 starters. How do they perform against a real DII team.

UTPB and WT has a few rhings in common: both haven't HC, new systems, a bunch of new players brought in.

WT got beat 28-6 by WesCo. I am interested to see IF UTPB competes with WesCo. or gets popped like WT did. That's all.

Sometimes a team can gain confidence and a mental edge after hanging 96 pts. Other times it's a false sense of security.
