  • CWU holds on in the end and comes up with a big upset. Now to see what they do with that on the road for two straight weeks.

I'm still not sure who won the arrogance vs. Texas beef vs. triggered too easily award, but we'll call it a tie. The thread was certainly dominated by that subtext.

A male bovine is a bull. A "steer" is a neutered male bovine. There are MANY, MANY breeds. The one in your posted story is a "Brown Swiss steer, one of the largest dairy breeds." That should never be confused with the Texas Longhorn breed.

The Texas Longhorn breed are known for the length of their horns. The world record is Bucklehead, 11' 1.8" span, tip to tip.
      Longhorns are pasture ornaments.

If you went with Riddell SpeedFlex, they are $499 RETAIL. Probably $350-$375

SpeedClassic is $354 retail, probably $225-$250.

And that's through my Riddell rep here in DFW.

The VICIS ZERO, which is what they wear, I think, Maroon $799 retail....probably $625-$650.
I passed on what I was told. I have no idea what a new helmet costs. Now I do (assuming what YOU tell me is true). Ha!

        • Looks like Northwest Missouri State is 1-2 as well so Angelo State isnt the only powerhouse team that is in trouble early.

Colorado Mines started 0-2 last year and their season ended pretty well.

Better to eat a great well-fed Hereford or Angus.

Definitely. Longhorn cattle is an ornamental bovine.

We raise 35 Black Angus cows with 2 Red Angus bulls; the calves come out pretty good looking, plus they have been healthy.

Finally got rain (2.5 inches”) these past few days. It has been terrible drought conditions for three months. We need much more rain.

Same here with about 3 inches of rain on Friday, since July 4th weekend.

I finally had to tell our HOA to piss off and I wasnt going to have a $1000 water bill to keep the grass bright green.

At least now its rainy season and I can get some seed to get the grass going again.

Northwest Missouri is 1-2? Someone ask Brandon if they've raided the coach's office and escorted him out of town in handcuffs.

Angelo State has some question marks now, they've made far too many mistakes and the running game has struggled.

You and the guy agreeing with you (@runnin' cat) are just ignorant about Texas Longhorn Cattle.

                    Hope this helps educate 😊

Its hard to do that here at my house because its St. Augustine grass on top of clay sod.

Also the fact that no rain for almost 3 months and 110 degree heat most of it hasn't done any favors.

I am pushing to just dig up the whole thing and plant bermuda grass.

Lol. The place you reference even calls itself a hobby farm and says that they sell direct to consumer

Clever marketing ploy. Cattle ranchers want heads per acre and pounds per head. Longhorns are a bad investment in both areas.

While I'm sure there is a niche health food market for gamey beef with less flavor than other breeds, it's still a hobby market. You can look up the numbers, but I would be shocked if more than 1% of TX cattle are longhorns. They are mainly show cows. I even have a friend who sells bull semen for a ridiculous profit to that show market.

The fact that comes from a domain entitled "hobbyfarms.com" says all that needs to be said...

"We used to run Weinhards out near Saragosa. They was longhorns, or were they short horns"...

                            Weinhards

St Augustine is 100 times better in drought vs Bermuda.

I have Bermuda. It needs LOTS of water!

TONS of people are turning to Texas Longhorn beef. With more and more people being health conscience, especially in affluent and educated areas, Longhorn beef is becoming a must have.

Now, if you shop at large, corporate markets, (haha) then NO, you don't buy Longhorn beef or Beluga Caviar.

Maybe stick with your Ballpark Frank's. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
