Did anyone drive/fly to Gunnison last week? Anyone planning on doing the same to Bemidji?

You have the #2 team in the country play the #3 team in the country week 1 of the "play-offs"?

Could you imagine that happening at the FBS level? it WOULDN'T.

The current CFP has the #1 playing the #4 team, and #2 plays #3. This is at the FBS level.

I learn something new every week…I thought it was originally like any other tournament and the team that plays the highest seed is by expectation the lower seed. So…CWU is number 7 and Bemidji 6. That was why I was so confident in saying CWU was going out there next week. Turns out I was so confident because I just didn’t know any better and tried to apply common sense to a situation where none is used. This was a big discussion topic last night on the Inside D2Football show.

The fact that it wasn’t this simple and it’s this nebulous void of non-seeded teams and whoever can pony enough cash to host justifies everything ASUPops said in post #150 about the D2 playoff setup.

Because the two lower seeded teams won and there is no reseed. Being a conference champ has nothing to do with it. Had the games gone chalk on the lower side of the regional bracket, you would have had a conference champ going to second place team.

EXACTLY why he said d2 playoff set up is ridiculous. Because, well, it is.

I had basin going to mines for region final. Hope the fan base is ok. Just let me know and I will help you all getting over a playoff lost…but I can’t help you about losing to an nsic team you are on your own for that one. D2 playoff set up and thought process is ridiculous. Cwu should be going to mines and bsu to aug. why should a conference Champ with 1 loss go to a higher conference champ and you have a 3rd place team hosting a conference runner up.

They dont reseed to my knowledge in the FCS bracket so no reason to do it in D2.

Bemidji was in a 3 way tie for second in the NSIC so not entirely accurate.

Bemidji has the overall more impressive resume than Central Washington so they should be hosting.

Good thing is Central Washington has a chance to prove it again on the field.

I will be rooting for them.

I would have bet the house on a UTPB blowout if someone told me that Bemidji would only score 10 points.

Kudos to Bemidji for outplaying and outcoaching.

Most years a second place team from any conference in the region wouldnt beat the LSC champ on their own field and definitely not hold them to 3 points.

Hopefully Central Washington puts up more of a fight offensively.

Looking more and more like the LSC might be the weakest conference in the region for a bit now.

Let's hope the UTPB posters dont disappear until August 2024.

For PB to have all those weapons and having won in so many different ways, that was definitely a very disappointing result. All the things they did well, Bemidji stopped and they had no answers. Even Western Colorado really could only hold them back for a half. The defense did all they could and I’m guessing they might be pretty upset since that effort should have been enough to win.

PB got into the red zone on their first drive, and didn’t get in the red zone after that. After their first two drives, they didn’t get anywhere near scoring position until their last drive.

Lots of inexperience by 1st year HC. The play-offs is when it shows.
