IMHO, the current coach was a very good hire. However, the jury is still out as to the success of his team.

If this is still true....

My issue is possibly hiring the second best coach out there and beyond due to the practice of only giving out one year contracts.

WT chose Hunter Hughes over Tremaine Jackson (Current Valdosta State head coach that went 12-2 last year and elite 8 appearance).
WT chose head coach Josh Lynn over Kris McCullough (Current UTPB coach that was rumored to want the WT job) and McCullough killed it last year in the LSC.

Obviously Lynn has the track record that Hughes didn't have head coaching wise and still needs 2-3 years to prove his plan works at WT.

The excuses are running out since the LSC continues to be watered down each year and the playoff chances are almost gone with super region realignment in 2025.
