Looks like the squeaker loss to Texas Tech finally put ACU on the map. They had all of 7100 in attendance at their first home game. D1 is just so good.

If ACU racks up the wins and get into the top 25 I am sure the attendance will pick up a tick.
The biggest head scratcher is Tarleton. They averaged 18k+ last year in attendance but only 2000 for the last game would have me worried.

There were more people who paid and attended 3 WT volleyball D2 non-conference matches on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday than attended Tarleton's football game.
And if ACU was reporting 7000...

Yeah, Pops/Mooseknuckle really goofed and no one called him on it. He then went on to talk about FCS competition in Houston Christian who nearly beat Texas Tech a few years ago, yet says nothing about Sul Ross now being a proud member of the mighty lone star conference. He’s a tool. Tarleton will have 20k+ at games at the end of Sept. and again in mid Oct. and then have 13-18k for the other 3.
LSC got way more problems than worrying about ACU, Tarleton and FCS. So just stop. You look jealous and petty. Get rid of your cancerous president and come join us WT. It really is a better place than where you are now.

And HCU, who was coming off a season opening drubbing at SMU in the Mustangs' home opener, gets to face UTSA in the Alamo Dome on the 21st. Sandwiched between the Tarleton and UTSA games is a winnable (well, in theory) game against NAIA Louisiana Christian.Cal U (Pa.) Class of 2014

If Tarleton had 14,000 for its ESPN-televised game, then my name is Santa Claus.
And "It was low because it was hot and the game was on ESPN2 and everyone wanted to see it on TV" is pretty pathetic.

Fruit dog has a point. Tarleton has flourished as a FCS school and I think I saw somewhere that they are ranked.
they also had some of the best attendance numbers for FCS last year. Not sure about the 20k.
The LSC is starting to look a shell of its former self. The competition has dropped quite significantly in the last few years. ACU, Tarleton and East Texas Commerce are solid programs that imho have not been replaced.
Central Wash is a quality add but for how long?
What once was a great football conference is now a conference with football as an afterthought.
I’ll be surprised if more than team gets to the playoffs. Kinda sad.

No question, the LSC isn't what it once was in football. The trend in Texas among some schools has been to go the FCS route. But funding that is all about student taxes. ACU is a private school and they can tax whatever the market will bear. Same for UIW. Tarleton has an enrollment sufficient to compete at a middling football level. Commerce doesn't have the funds to compete, and probably never will. They are stuck in loser land. All sports are extreme shoe-string D1.
No public schools in the LSC have sufficient enrollments to fund a competitive D1 program. You might see someone else go the Commerce route, but I doubt it; that's no man's land.

The name is right there for them East Texas A&M. They need something to link the bridge to older alums. Something to get more involved and start building up the program to compete at FCS.
Trying to add Dallas to the school name is assinine,
