  • LSC Pick'em: Week 8

Another full slate of LSC games this week. We have the battle of the 2X4s as WTAM heads across the border to ENMU. In what could be a very interesting game, WOU (technically, they're leading the LSC because their two losses were against FCS teams) travels to Permian Basin. We find out if first half or second half CWU shows up when they go to TAMUK. In another Somebody Has to Win Bowl, WNMU travels to Sul Ross. Finally, we see if Angelo State keeps it up at Midwestern State.

    Pick here: https://forms.gle/S5ziEnwNNaR78QgFA

PS: If you can't remember if you picked or not, message me. One person picked 3 times last week and 2 picked twice. I gave them all the benefit of the doubt and the better scores.

The hardest game to pick was WOU @ UTPB second hardest was WT @ ENMU.

CWU and Kingsville is the big one this week…the interesting matchup is the CWU ground game against the Kingsville D that gave up next to nothing against Angelo (except for a ton of passing yards). Can McGill have a better passing game?

WOU is reminding me of Kingsville from 2022…their schedule was back-loaded with the best teams and they fell flat after a fast start. Now we find out how good they are.

Not according to the Official LSC Standings:

          https://lonestarconference.org/stand...?standings=181

          But maybe it's alphabetical?

So where did you get the "Official" Standings that shows WOU as #1? Can you provide the link?

              Thank you Sir.

Well, both teams are 4-2 but WOU's losses were to FCS teams so they don't count towards regional rankings, so as far as D2 standings go, 4-0 is marginally better than 4-2. It's my interpretation, anyway.

Yeah thats the curse of only playing 9 D2 games with no non conference games. If your conference is average or worse, one loss can drop you from #1 to #7 or worse.

Oh, gotcha. I thought you had seen some formal, official ranking. However. LSC Standings are based on conference wins not overall games. Angelo played two of the better teams and WOU has only plaayed bottom dwellers, plus this is not Regional Rankings.

It will all be settled soon enough. We'll see where each stands at the end of the season.

I spent more time on the pickems this week than all other weeks combined. WT at ENMU is a hard one; WNMU at SR was also very hard.

Neither game really matters, except to see if Lynn is still the coach in late November.

Yep. I still stand by my original statement. If Central Washington wins out then they are the only LSC playoff team and they will have to go on the road. If ASU wins out, then ASU for sure and CW looks a little iffy. Western Oregon could get my attention more if they beat UTPB this weekend. Kingsville could really throw everything into flux if they win Saturday.

Totally agree. The two pillow fights mentioned above. Then you have Western Oregon (finding out if they are for real) against UTPB. Central Washington looking weaker and on the long road trip against Kingsville. I could look like a total genius and possibly cut into Texcap's lead or a total dumba$$ (which is usual) and just give up on the pick em for good.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what WOU really has. I have to admit I really admire them, they don't have a big budget but they play tough.

I think Texcap has a crystal ball tuned for D2.
