I think that’s the only move at this point. This part seems particularly damning:

He has already served is suspension so obviously this isn't new information to the Brass at WT. If they let Lynn go now it would look really bad because they knew about the infractions before the season ended and could of done it back them.

Based on the wording of that sentence, WT pretty much threw UNK under the bus by self reporting and then UNK gets the punishment.

I didnt see in the article anywhere that WT was punished for their (Lynn's) role?

Welp. Some of "us" Buffs fans may get what "we" want but the timing of this will be catastrophic now that we are already into February with a recruiting class.

Any "momentum" or signs of Lynn's plan for year 3 will be up in smoke.

WT is essentially ENMU at this point.

I wonder if it had an effect on their recruiting class. At first class the class looks okay, but definitely not great. Did it cost them a few guys or did they get what they got?

According to my calculations, Lynn is the not only the final but the WORST of the McBroom football coaches!

Remember how in Hughes’ final year many of you picked WT to win 10 or more games while I picked 6? Little did I know WT would wear the wrong uniforms as well as play like their helmets were on backwards against SFU. So the team went 5-6 and it just took our former AD a week or 10 days to show his little buddy the door.

I thought anyone with more charisma than a mannequin could out coach Hughes, but instead Lynn only won 4 games in his first year, then staggered to 5 last year.

Now despite an arguably adequate job recruiting, Lynn is so handcuffed that maybe a mannequin would be a better choice as head coach.

When does this nightmare end? When we get decent administrators, and that won’t be anytime soon.

Looks like UNK got 99% the worst end of the deal.

Interesting that he was "punished" by not coaching the last game of the year last year against Angelo.

So basically he could wrap up his recruiting class by Sunday and now he cant speak to anyone in the WT football program from Feb 9 - 22, March 9-15, June 19 - July 5, and Aug 10 - 23.

Freshman players talking to each other: "Hey, you notice coach takes these weird two week vacations once a month?"

Looks like Hunter Hughes is back in D2/RMAC as the new defensive coordinator for Colorado Mesa.

I chuckle to myself these days.

About 25 years ago, I received a formal warning and NCAA reprimand from the then AD. My infraction: I ran into a WT BB player at a Foot Locker in the Amarillo mall. Wife and I were leaving to see a movie at the mall. I invited the player to join us. I paid his $1.00 admission (a dollar theater). Paid for his (and our) popcorn and a drink. Someone at the Foot Locker heard me invite him and turned me in to our AD, who self-reported the booster infraction.

A real crime!

At the time, I wasn't even thinking about it. I just invited the kid to join us and he said Yes. I had no idea being a nice guy was a violation.
