  • CWU Signing Day

Holy crap, what a day. I seriously look forward to NSD more than Christmas and this year's class for CWU, on paper, is their greatest class ever. 32 recruits, and all known verbal commits signed! Obviously we will have to wait and see how the kids all pan out. But CWU got FIVE 3-star recruits, 5 of the top 63 recruits in Washington led by top QB (118 nationally) Kolton Matson. 4 of the 5 had previous FBS (some Power 5 (now 4)) offers, likely from former coaching staffs that evaporated as coaches changed. Central also went into enemy territory to nab 5 recruits out of Oregon, including 3 of the top 35 recruits. The Wildcats really focused on defensive linemen and edge rushers, adding 7 of them! Central also added 6 offensive linemen and 6 defensive backs, and found a new punter.

And here is my blog post of all the recruits including accolades, stats, highlights, news articles, etc: https://cwuwildcatnation.blogspot.co...uits-2025.html

Apparently CWU got a RB transfer in from UW in Ryder Bumgarner.

Nearly 2500 rushing yards in his senior year and 4000 yards in his last 2 years of high school. Walked on a UW and didn't see the field in 2 years, so still has 3 years to play. Phillips, Lee, and Bumgarner along with Taylor and Washington should provide CWU with a very deep but young backfield

It will be a nice competition. Paper said Daniels was coming back, too, but I thought he graduated. I'm a bit more concerned about what's going to happen at WR. They lost their top two receivers to graduation, so that's pretty open too.

Daniels has graduated. He played 4 seasons already 2021-24. So Central will have a deep and talented but relatively inexperienced running backs room unless they add a transfer.

They actually are losing their top 3 receivers in Morrison, Cook, and Gaines. So WR is certainly the biggest question on offense. I am hoping for Grable to have a breakout season.

Well here is a major developing story. Washington's top unsigned recruit, 3-star (86 rating) running back from Lake Stevens HS Jayshon Limar has been offered by both CWU and WOU. Limar is the younger brother of Oregon Ducks RB Jayden Limar and the former has 6 offers from former Pac-12 programs (including Oregon) as well as Notre Dame. So it is pretty surprising why he remains unsigned and now getting offers from several smaller programs (College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon also threw their names into the hat).

Will he join high school teammate Kolton Matson at CWU? This will be interesting to follow!

Why? Grades? Get into trouble? There's gotta be a reason?

3.8 GPA according to his X profile, and CWU wouldn't recruit anyone with poor grades. Not sure what happened to his recruiting. I know many of the FBS programs who offered him have undergone coaching changes so that could be part of it.

This would be a major steal for CWU or WOU. Central already has 3 RBs in this recruiting class though.

A Bacon Bleu Mother with a side of rings and (this is the important medicine) a pint of Vitamin R will really help with those injuries. Sign with CWU and get healthy while downtown.

Okay I see it now. He did miss 4 games in his junior season when he "only" rushed for 984 yards and 12 touchdowns, winning the state 4A championship. Crazy how that can derail all of one's recruiting

He missed all of his sophomore year with a ACL reconstruction. His junior season he missed four games with a shoulder injury.
